Detectives from the Met's Flying Squad charged the men, aged between 48 and 76, with conspiracy to burgle on Wednesday evening. They have been remanded in custody to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
You forget a thousand things every day. Make sure this is one of them.
Well at least they remembered to get the thermal drill.
Should have gone with a different crew.
Heists are so cool to me. I always hope the people who pull them off never get caught, so it adds another layer of mystery to it. The Pink Panthers (The heisters not the movies) are pretty awesome cause they haven't been caught.
I'm expecting more arrests can't image anyone over the age of 48 climbing through such a hole.

Makes you wonder how the hell did they get away with that.

Just like that big plane robbery a few years back where some giant amount of money in diamonds or something was stolen. Anyone remember?
now i'm going to have to start playing payday 2 again..
thats a horde mode zombie guard simulator, not a heist game
I wonder what mistake they made so they got caught ... it seems like quite well organized heist maybe someone got what they needed (documents) so he betrayed them

I actually share the same sentiment for kleptomaniacs too. I don't know why, I fined them really interesting.
The Brussels plane heist in 2013, they drove a van into the airport wearing police uniforms, held up the guards and drove off with about $45m worth of diamonds.

man if i was a criminal i'd execute heists then mail back the stolen goods with flowers and chocolate with a card saying "Sorry" in the worst drunken cursive possible heisting should be a sport

We need a proper heist simulator game, that isn't Payday or GTA5. Imagine like the classic Swat games but playing it from the criminals perspective.

Damn, it would have been awesome if they pulled off the heist(if no one got hurt) and then were arrested. Id want to hear about how in detail, shit seems so cool even though its really illegal. Heists just seem so rad, its a bunch of professionals doing crazy shit. If I was guarding a bank or Jewel store and some guys with automatic rifles and masks came in id probably ask for an autograph then just watch the magic happen.

So, according to Facepunch's Legal System.. Theft is perfectly fine, so long as it involves items of great worth and a dramatic methodology. Our island nation will be riddled with tunnels.

Anyone remember?
It was reported by our media in the beginning the deposit boxes that were broken into were owned by some unscrupulous people (Mob Bosses, Gangsters), and that a lot of the stuff stolen by this gang was already nicked in the first place. Take with a pinch of salt off course. Anyway now they've caught them watch the gang get a stupidly long sentence for taking from rich powerful people.
Burgle is a word.
As romantic as it is, these crimes still effect people as its repercussions trickle down.
lmao what do u care to explain how a bunch of locked away diamonds (so, u know, not actively being traded) getting jacked indirectly affects the job market/economy
it's pretty shitty to root for the robbers in this situation, regardless of how clever the heist was http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/hatton-garden-jewellery-heist-raid-victims-have-lost-everything-10231072.html
Mr Marchant told the broadcaster: “These aren't extremely wealthy people, for a lot of them their livelihoods have gone. All of us might be forgiven for thinking how audacious, how clever, but what (the gang has) done is ruin the lives of many people within the Hatton Garden jewellery quarter. “I have been told by individuals I have interviewed that they have had friends and colleagues who work in the quarter with them, grown men, hardened dealers, in sobs - (they) don't know what to do because of course some haven't insured at all."
