Y'know a couple years ago I actually thought that Green Day was the most depressing music I've ever heard. But back then My taste was based on how often it was played of Much Music. Anyway a little while back I discovered Joy Division, a post-punk back from the late 70's-early 80's. Their albums are so gloomy and depressing it's no surprise that their lead singer killed himself. The rest of the band went on to make New Order, another awesome band. Joy Division only has two albums out, but they're probably my favourite albums of all time.

I did.
Candidate is their most powerful song they wrote,
Insight is good too.
I fucking love Joy Division.
lets dance to joy division, and celebrate the irony
etc etc
Joy Division reminds me of how much I hate being depressed
Everything sounds constant and uniform and nothing is really bright
I still love them though

I love Twenty-four Hours. Hell I love all of Closer. It's a masterpiece. Shame no one at my school knows of them.
Atmosphere and She's Lost Control are my favourites. Love them.
I love pretty much all of their discography.

I'd count "Substance" as a third album. It's basically a compilation of singles and b-sides.

Well I'm talking about studio albums, not compilations.

I know. I'm just saying that Substance is really worth a listen for any Joy Division fan, since its just another CD full of great songs from them.
Great band.
But after watching "Control" you get really mad at Ian Curtis.
Atrocity Exhibition is very addicting, need to learn the bass on that when I get a bass soon.
Joy Division is godlike.
Disorder is my favorite song.

Yeah. It's the only CD with Love will Tear us Apart and Transmission on it.
All I can say about Joy Division is: "Ian, you fucking cunt..."
dont forget "digital",epically awesome song
How do you get Joy Division to stop practicing?
Flick the lights on and off.
That was horrible I apologize.
I got Substance a little while ago and it is great.
I also rented the movie Control (a biopic about Ian Curtis), which I might watch later sometime.

So bad.. but so funny. I feel bad for laughing at this.
I like Joy Division. It really reminds me of this one fling I had with this guy that absolutely loved them.
Substance should count as a real album, being that it's an absolutely must-have release from them.
Bump because this band is amazing. Ian Curtis wrote some incredibly depressing yet powerful lyrics.

Both their albums are masterpieces
I listened to 'love will tear us apart' great song but the singing made me want to kill myself. It was baaaadd.
