Athletics chiefs have decided not to lift the suspension, which was imposed in November following accusations of state-sponsored doping. But individual athletes can compete as neutrals if they prove they are clean. Meanwhile, Russian pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva said she would challenge the IAAF's decision in court, claiming it was "a human rights violation".[/quote]
I hope USA/Canada Europe boycotts it because of the deadly bugs as well and have this be the Olympic that flops
Honestly don't know how to feel about this. On one hand it is sorta wrong to ban them for doping and what not if they're coming up clean, but who knows in that area. On the other hand, the Rio Olympics are an absolute mess due to where it's being held. Especially with Zika being a problem there too. Surprised nothing had been done yet regarding the health problems that could possibly come with the Olympics being held in Rio.
After the Rio Olympics Russia's athletics team will probably be the only team remaining.
i feel like a simple screening process at the end of the games would allay whatever fears people have about Zika anyway this will be the first olympics with a major team not participating in decades

And what do you do about the peolpe that fail the screening?

Unless you're pregnant, you're not really running any risks(hell, even if you are, but better safe than sorry i guess). btw, i happen to live in Rio.
The Olympics were never a fair or balanced event so whatever
