Overclocking GTX465 with MSI Afterburner - Need some advice
1 replies, posted
I've google'd around for the max safe voltage i can set for my Asus ENGTX465.
Most people say afterburner's max value for voltage is the max safe value you can use without any danger. Is this true?
Stock settings for my card is:
Core: 607 MHz
Shader: 1215 MHz
Memory: 1603 MHz
Voltage: 1.025v
What i want to reach:
Core: >= 800 MHz
Shader: >= 1600 MHz
Memory: Not sure, not really prioritized
Afterburner's max value is set to 1.087v. This guy with the same card set his voltage to the same as my max value is. I thought i'd mention that.
I only have stock cooling, but if i get this to work, i might buy one of these. Same cooling as the guy in the link above.

I tried setting the voltage to afterburner's max value, and it worked. Right now i have the settings i was trying to get, and it's running stable at 78c after 30 minutes in Kombustor. I'm pretty happy with it, so i guess this thread has no purpose anymore.
I will probably buy the cooler above.
My 460 is at 845/1690/2000 core/shader/memory. You should be able to get yours that high as iirc the 465 is just a higher binned 460. You don't need that cooler either. The reference cooler is fine.
