How old do you look? You might be able to just go into a headshop depending on how strict they are. If not just ask somebody with an ID.

If they run a headshop then I'm sure they smoke their brains out, so it isn't really shameful, they just want to make sure their asses are covered. One time my friend tried to get a pipe and got shot down and another guy that was about to go on break sold it to him off the books and the owner was fine with it as long as my friend didn't go around telling people about it.
