So the iPhone, arguably the most significant technological device of the 21st Century, was actually an afterthought that came into being while Apple was drawing up plans for the iPad.
"My God, I said, this would make a great phone," Jobs recalled. "So we shelved the tablet and built the iPhone."
Sauceticals
So the iPad isn't a big iPhone, the iPhone is a small iPad?
Either way I'd rather have a Droid.
steve jobs is a cunt

DroidPad.
I'd buy one.
Jobs has a small wiener

So he thought "oh look this big ipad is too big lets make it small like my dick so i can shove it up my ass"

"most significant technological device of the 21st Century"
you jest
"most significant technological device of the 21st Century"

Their words, not mine.
i could have sworn that maybe the iPhone came into existence by thinking "hey, why don't we make an iPod a phone?"
and then the iPad was "hey lets make the iPhone a little bigger and more expensive!"
How the iPad represents the "post-PC-era"
"The transformation of PC to new form factors like the tablet is going to make some people uneasy because the PC has taken us a long ways. The PC is brilliant, and we like to talk about the post-PC era, but it's uncomfortable."
Maybe someday in the rather distant future we will have tablets that are as powerful as today's desktop computers, but the iPad doesn't even come close to replacing the functionality of a PC. It's just an expensive, user-friendly, social-networking toy.
The keyboard and mouse are far more resourceful than a fucking touchpad. They also have a better lifespan than most digitizers.
^ Agreed, I don't understand why people buy iPads, when they can get an okay computer for just as much.
They are much more efficient and easier to use in my opinion. Plus you have more control over a computer than an iPad.
Wow, this explains a lot.
Fuck Apple.
Yes yes, something created in the opening decade of a century can be judged as being the most significant device of the whole century. Makes a ton of sense.

They can't get anything past you :downs:
Arguably the most significant technological device of the 21st Century
Oh, I'd love to see someone argue that point. How inept do you have to be to make a claim like that.

Let's face it FP, we may be somewhat defunct but at least we have more than two brain cells, and aren't swayed by ease of access and user friendliness. However, the majority of the worlds populace is.

Apparently it is when Steve Jobs is behind it.
Touch Tablet pc's have been around for a while now. It would be like upgrading my computer and selling copies of it saying "Its the most significant device of the whole century" when theirs nothing new or revolutionary about it.
I'm really starting to hate that guy.
Apple is now the biggest name is utter bullshit.
If you put the Apple logo on toilet paper and sold it for $300 a roll, it'd outsell any other brand of TP.
And Geek Squad would charge you $450 to install it.
Finally solid proof that the iPad is nothing more then a bloated iPhone.
...not that we needed that statement, that much is obvious.
Hey guys I don't like Steve Jobs let's insult him.
Insert witty comment here.
By the way, I don't like him either, but he has created one of the most profitable companies so far in the 21st century, give him a little credit.
The iPads pretty sweet, it's just insanely expensive. I don't have the disposable income to throw away on something like that, but if I did, I'd probably buy one.
I guess I understand the animosity around it because of how much Apple sounds fucking retarded with every new 'innovation', but the product itself is rated highly by everyone I've known who has one.

Yeah... That he was booted out of once already...
But seriously, I was toying with an iPad at Best Buy and they are kinda cool. But there's no way I'd ever pay how much they're charging for one. If it was more along the lines of $200 I'd consider it, but not for a penny more.
That's how it works. Usually you have this oblivious group of 'experts' who say shit about the iPhone/iPad, anything Apple, but have little to no experience with the actual products. Then they resort to inferior alternatives to avoid the Apple brandname, ignore the existence of jailbreaking and call it a closed environment. All that while the people who didn't jump to conclusions are loving every second of the product they bought because it's actually good.

Bwahaha.
My fucking ass.
Bwahaha.

Well, it is. Without it, we would have been stuck with regular crappy smartphones where half the phone is a keyboard. You have to admit that the iPhone is what really pushed people to be more serious about touchscreens.
I don't believe a thing Jobs says anymore. I've lost count of how many times he's revised his own history to make it seem like he's always a visionary.

So out of every technological advancement ever in the 21st century ever your little cell-phone with the silly little touch screen is the most important and earth shattering ever.

Ever != 21st Century.
But yes.
Well, it is.
No. Just no.

This part is true though, when it comes to phones at least.
That's what I'm talking about mostly. When it comes to phones, the iPhone is the single most important thing, and will be for a pretty long time until somebody gets another idea that changes everything.
