Several others in Pyongyang’s top brass were also removed from their posts, the person said. The moves are the latest shuffling of officials that began when Mr. Kim inherited power from his father in late 2011. The frequency of the changes is higher than in previous regimes, observers say. But more than three years into power, no clear signs of general instability in Mr.Kim’s regime have emerged. North Korea hasn’t officially acknowledged the public execution or the officials’ removal through its state media and it wasn't possible to independently verify any of the information provided to the committee hearing. Lim Byung-chul, spokesman for South Korea’s Unification Ministry, which handles inter-Korean affairs, said Wednesday Mr. Hyon was last seen in public late last month but couldn’t confirm the execution’s timing. North Korea’s purges should be viewed as a way to “create an atmosphere of terror” to consolidate Mr. Kim’s grip on power, Mr. Lim added. Experts say the reshuffling appears to reflect Mr. Kim’s increasing demands on resource-strapped officials who come up short. The spy agency’s list of removed officials includes Ma Won Chun and Han Kwang Sang, top officials for construction and finance, respectively.
http://www.wsj.com/articles/north-korean-defense-minister-executed-by-anti-aircraft-fire-south-says-1431483504 Sweet jesus, a AA cannon of all things?
Could have been worse pain-wise I imagine atleast.
Not really surprising, didn't Kim Jong Un have an army minister executed with a mortar so that nothing would remain of him or something like that?
He'll just walk it off
I can't tell if this is genuine after believing in other people killed in NK who turned out not to be.
Video?
Video?
Let's not
Video?
You already know what it would look like. Theres someone, now theres no one.

I have reason to doubt this tbh. While North Korea does execute people often, reports of them using bizarre methods (like feeding the person to dogs or using artillery) is usually exaggerated.
Video?
I don't know about you but I don't really want to see the the effects of a 23MM Armor Piercing / High Explosive burst on a human target. Probably not a whole lot left of him, if anything.
After watching Zombie movies with James Franco things have never been the same again
While singing Katy Perry in his soviet tank along the way.
What's next, execution by a test nuclear bomb detonation?
Yeah... and then they took what was left of him and fed his children with it.
I've seen ISIS execute people by similiar means, least it's instantenous, if that offers any comfort.
least it's instantenous, if that offers any comfort.
which is still not guaranteed instant
Expect them to execute their next victim with a nuke or something.

If Kim was as hardcore as he pretends to be he should deal with alleged traitors by a sword duel for life or death.
This straight up sounds like something you'd see on a South Park episode. I can almost hear Matt and Trey's Asian voices as Kim Jong-un tells this guy to stand on this open area, waiting for a prize or a cookie or something as he rushes to the bunker to aim the anti air cannon.
I guess he was tired of Kim's BS.
Could have been worse pain-wise I imagine atleast.
Kim Jong Un's uncle was stripped naked and then eaten alive by 120 starving dogs.
At least it was metal as fuck
There's satellite imagery of it, pretty good confirmation.
I really doubt this is totally true, i'm sure he got executed but probably by a normal firing squad. That dog thing from last year was also mostly made up, that guy was executed but not by feeding him to starved dogs.
At least it's quick, you'd be turned to shreds as soon as the first shots hit you
Kim Jong Un's uncle was stripped naked and then eaten alive by 120 starving dogs.
It's already been mentioned in this thread, but that story was fabricated by the Chinese tabloid, Wen Wei Po.
Since when did DPRK become ISIS? This is shit ISIS has been doing for a while. God damn, AA-cannon executions are fucking brutal and terrible. [editline]13th May 2015[/editline]
What's next, execution by a test nuclear bomb detonation?
If I ever had to be executed, I would mandate this as my last wish. Going off in a (pretty fucking loud and huge and shiny) bang.

The reason is even worse allegedly he fell asleep during a Kim event
