Yeah it just means microtransactions in the pause menu and pre-order DLC that disappears once you use it, isn't that right, Squenix? Imo in a perfect world, "games as a service" would be some shit akin to how HITMAN™ worked, but they just cut off IO-I and gave them the Hitman IP, so that's clearly not what they're talking about.
Wait what does this mean for games like FF14 and such?
