Other Pixar shorts, released only on home media, were created to showcase what Pixar can do (either technologically or cinematically), or were created specifically for a client.

Also, beginning with A Bug's Life, Pixar has created extra content for each of their films that is not part of the main story. For their early theatrical releases, this content was in the form of "movie outtakes" and appeared as part of the movie's credits. For each of their films since Monsters, Inc. (Finding Nemo excluded), this content was a short made exclusively for the DVD release of the film. As of 2008, all of the short films except BURN-E, are available to purchase on Apple's iTunes Store.

List of Pixar shorts exhibited in front of theatrical releases: * Luxor Jr (released with Toy Story 2) * Tin Toy (home released with Toy Story 1) * Knick Knack (released with Finding Nemo) * Geri's Game (released with A Bug's Life) * For the Birds (released with Monsters Inc) * Boundin' (released with The Incredibles) * One Man Band (released with Cars) * Lifted (released with Ratatouille) * Presto (released with WALL-E) * Partly Cloudly (released with Up) * Day & Night (released with Toy Story 3)

Mater's Tall Tales In 2008, Pixar began making shorts with previously developed characters. Post!
Day & Night was interesting. Never seen anything like it. They're all great though, just like their films.
Day & Night was interesting. Never seen anything like it. They're all great though, just like their films.
They just show how PIXAR can tell a story in less than 10 minutes. Day & Night was my 2nd favorite. 1st favorite is Geri's Game.
Geri's game was awesome watching as a kid. I still don't understand it.
Geri's Game all the way. Second would be Tin Toy.
Geri's game was awesome watching as a kid. I still don't understand it.
Basically its the imagination of an old man. But you start to think if its real or not. Because you see Geri 1 having an heart attack and Geri 2 looking at him worried. And there is one point where you see BOTH Geri's at the screen on the same time.
I got a big list with links to most of the shots in the pixar megathread i made http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=900157

Geri made a cameo in Toy Story 2.
One man band and Geri's game are my favorites. Absolutely masterful.
Geri made a cameo in Toy Story 2.
Who was he again?
Who was he again?
The guy that fixed up Woody.
I didn't see all of day and night I don't think, I walked into the theater about have way through it
My favorite short has always been "For the Birds", although Day and Night is a close second. The 2D/3D animation was adorable.
I loved watching Boundin' it was a cute and funny short.
Day & Night took the title, for me anyways, of best Pixar Short. Geri's Game and For the Birds are my 2 second and third favorite. [editline]11:55PM[/editline]
The guy that fixed up Woody.
One of his cabinets in his fixing toolbox had chess pieces in it which was a good touch.
One of his cabinets in his fixing toolbox had chess pieces in it which was a good touch.
Wow, that is REALLY a great touch.
I really love Geri's game. It's such a simple, sweet story. And yeah, the chess piece in his toolbox in Toy Story was a really nice touch :)
I think that the Cars Toons were pretty funny too. Mater WAS one of the most important chars in the movie.
Seemed related.
Ahahaha. Oh wow. I feel sad for Luxo.
I got the DVD with all of them on from one of my mates who works at the cinema a while back (and saw a few of them in 3D Lectures.. as history research no less!) The baby in Tin Toy is shit scary My favourites are probably Knick-Knack, Lifted and The Adventures of Andre and Wally B; even for the first cinematic style 3D short it still doesn't look that bad.
