NEW YORK (AFP) – Officials at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport evacuated one of its airport terminals after a bomb scare Sunday on one of the busiest US holiday travel days, WABC television reported.
The television station reported that authorities cleared JFK's Terminal 1, while hazardous materials experts and other emergency crews arrived at the scene.
But the network, an affiliate of CNN, reported that it expected shortly to receive an "all-clear" from security officials meaning that there authorities believe there is no imminent threat.
The network reported that the evacuation was carried out in "an abundance of caution."
Officials at the Port of Authority of New York and New Jersey, which operates the airport, did not immediately return AFP's calls seeking information about the incident.
CNN, which aired footage that showed passengers milling about on the airport tarmac, reported that the incident occurred at around 5:40 pm when airport officials received a bomb threat from an "anonymous woman."
A short time later, the network said officials found an unattended piece of baggage at the airport, which sparked the alert and led to the evacuation.
The bomb scare took place on Independence Day, which marks the founding of the United States, and is a US national holiday.
The scare also came as airports across the United States ramped up security during the busy holiday weekend.[/quote]

The destructive nature of human behavior is saddening. Imagine how many lives would have died if there was a bomb detonated in this busy airport. There would have been hundreds, if not thousands of needless deaths all because of one person, or one group's personal grudges against a country for things these people more than likely had nothing to do with.

From what I understand it was done by 4chan. Didn't catch it all, but I guess some girl promised them boobs and then didn't show. She then went around on her blog and facebook posting how she epicly trolled them, so they got mad, found out every thing about her, and found out she was supposed to be flying out of JFK. So they called a bomb threat so she wouldn't be able to fly.
