• Upgrade suggestions?

Hey folks. I was planning on getting a new computer in a month or two, but with the imminent release of Battlefield 3 and Skyrim, I'm wanting to get some upgrades in a bit earlier. Basically I'm looking at the best upgrades I can get that will fit the current rig and be good for my next computer. Here are my specs: Mainboard: Gigabyte EP45-DS3L Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2400MHz Physical Memory: 4096MB (2 x 2048 DDR2-SDRAM ) Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+ PSU: Mushkin Enhanced 550200 550W So the question is, what would you guys upgrade in there, and to what? I currently can't play BF3 fullscreen without crashing, and someone told me that's probably due to my video card being old. If so, I should probably upgrade that, but I'm wondering whether the PSU will take a more powerful card. And while I'm getting a video card, I could as well get something else, so what would be the other thing needing an upgrade? I'm not exactly tight on money, let's say a budget of 1000$ for upgrades, and hopefully I'll already have some good parts for my next rig. I'm in Canada, so links to Candian Newegg and such would be appreciated. The end goal is to run Battlefield 3 and Skyrim (even though we don't have specs for this one yet, I think we can make a pretty good guess) as nicely as possible. Thanks.
Definetely your video card. The Q6600 is still quite powerful and should be well enough until something new is released. What is your budget?

A 570 will be enough to max pretty much any game, goes for about 330 bucks, the rest of the money you can later on spend on an overhaul of your motherboard, cpu, RAM and PSU.

The motherboard will, not entirely sure about the psu, although it should be able to handle it. But then again, when you will be upgrading the rest, you'd need a more powerful powersupply anyhow, so you could invest in a 750W corsair one (which right now goes for the same price as a 650W one, 110USD)

I'm also wondering what card to pick. There are a bunch of manufacturers and each seem to have their own pros and cons.
