Can someone tell why Either Microsoft or this Virus (it's called ncrypt - is it one) has the signature of Microsoft ? , All I found out is it Could be from Microsoft KSP or whatever that is? and also it try's to do something to the default browser which I love to use on my tablet but Malware bytes blocks it's connection so that leads me to believe it's a bad thing although I Really am not sure what it does to my browser since it's not redirecting - here's an album with just 3 pictures of it imgur - http://imgur.com/ojmRybc,9ORJDPk,r0g2f7h#0 - I don't want to risk more infected so I linked it - although I scanned my system with a live Rescue CD from bit defender and it picked up nothing so my only guess is did Microsoft buy out ncrypt and it's creators? or could it be an app ? TL;dr - Either I'm remembering the wrong virus or something because last I remember ncrypt used to be one my current system is upgraded from windows 7 sp1 OEM to windows 8 to windows 8.1 pro and just to get this out of the way - it's a brand new install since today early morning note - I'm currently on sleeping meds and a few other knockout meds so sorry if there's anything misspelled I tried my best :v:
ncrypt.dll is a valid Microsoft code library although there may be a fake one elsewhere pretending to be the same DLL. It's also possible that there is other shit going on. When in doubt, upload the file to virustotal.com. On the other hand, ncrypt.in is the site for a utility that is not the same as Microsoft's DLL: "nCrypt offers the possibilty to manage your filehosting links. We have special focus on an easy folder management and a frequent check of all online statuses of your links. Who wants to protect the links from unauthorised access, can protect folders with a captcha or a password." Check to see if you've got this utility installed anywhere, including if it was packaged along with an installer for something else (the way installers are like, HEY WANT TO INSTALL MCAFEE TOO?!).
