• Anyone Want to Draw my Group an Album Cover?

A rapper named JTGetem (http://myspace.com/jtgetem) and I are releasing a single on a multitude of mediums in a week or so and we were wondering if anyone here would be willing to spend if for only a brief time on an album cover for us. In thr future our stuff will be on iTunes and if someone is willing to make an album cover for us now when the music is on iTunes we will be willing to give you a cut. So if anyone out there already enjoys making art for free then who wouldn't want their work out in the world for the public to see and a chance for $$$. If anybody interested reply here or PM me or both and I will explain our vision. I prefer someone who is able to make cartoon drawings (in no particular style) as the picture will depict the two of us on stage. Thanks. The beat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MayxPEkfHY I've been getting hate on the first beat so check this one out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZmJEXfmLsU The Idea: OK well heres the idea thats in my mind: Its a cartoon, and the scene is a dark, shitty basement, and there is a stage with a dude with a hood on holding a mic rapping, but his face is green and fucked up like a cartoon zombie, and behind him theres a DJ set up with the same messed up face, and infront of the men on stage you see the backs of a bunch of screaming fans with their hands in the air and they too are wearing tattered clothes like they rose from the dead. BOOM i said it.
Hahaha, I'm sorry man but that guy looks like a total fucking loser.
haha Yeah I probly shouldn't have posted a link to the myspace his pictures don't make him look good but he doesn't even look like that in real life and his music is actually very good.
would help if you had an idea of what you wanted on the cover, dawg. I don't think I can do anything on such short notice, but it's always interesting to get ideas flowin'.
Well the truth is we are so desperate for a cover we'll take what we can get. Are you capable of drawing cartoon characters? Because the idea would be either a front view of a stage with an cartoon rapper holding a mic and a DJ Table set up behind him with a cartoon DJ. Or the other idea would be from the perspective behind the DJ where you'd see the back of the DJs head and the back of the rappers head with a screaming crowd infront of them.
I've been more on the photography side of things as of late, but it's good to know what kind of things you'd prefer, that gives other artists a bit more inspiration to get shuffling along faster ;D
FUCK YOU^^Just kidding haha it's cool, maybe you're work in photography can come in handy if I come up with some better ideas. [editline]12:30AM[/editline] Jesus Daijitsu your art is amazing, I looked at your gallery at deviant art, it's great stuff.
Edit: Ur arts good, I like ur lines. And the robotic mask.
Keep in mind that reguardless of someone here making an album cover, the music will still be released, so FritoMaster if you want to make an album cover you won't have to feel guilty about single handedly adding "to the already hugely popular shit."
Meh, My bad for being a dick. Thanks. Im in lazy mode and im working on a android game so I'm busy most of my free time.
...did I miss something?
Me editing my post because I'm a dudche.
Damnit Daijitsu save the thread for someone other than the only two other people who've posted and yourself haha. Where are all the offers. CARTOONISTS UNITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gotcha. Oh, and what is the name of this album/single? That might help in artistic influence.
We like to think that our music is different so if either of you two have anything (be it drawing or photography) that you think may be useful and would be pumped to see end up on iTunes, please feel free to mention it. We don't necessarlily need a cover that screams HIP HOP. [editline]01:02AM[/editline] Ok it hasn't been named yet but the first single which isn't going on itunes samples Michael Jackson's Beat it, with a spacey synth added in, and the second single is a dark song with a creppy piano & dark synth. The second single is going on iTunes as it is impossible to get the rights to sample an MJ song. [editline]01:03AM[/editline] I'll post whats done on youtube tomorow so people will realize this isn't a joke and it's actually very catchy.
Pixel art. Isometric.
I can draw your boy a sick graffiti logo for 25 bucks. Or an album cover, or both together, or whatever. I've done a couple album covers before:
Dude...not cool you can't just post the sickest album covers ever and expect my jeans to still be wearable. Your stuffs amazing and as long as nobody can do what you do for cheaper I'll probly be asking you to do it.
I can draw your boy a sick graffiti logo for 25 bucks. Or an album cover, or both together, or whatever. I've done a couple album covers before:
Wouldn't that be illegal, or did you use your own photos/drawings?
They are his own that's why he said I can draw you an album cover.
Wouldn't that be illegal, or did you use your own photos/drawings?
The one with the snake definetely wasn't his own photo.
looks like it might be a stock photo, but then again I can drive 10 minutes to the local mall and visit the Serpent Safari to take a picture of a nice python, or... turtle...
Nothing says gangsta like a nice turtle photograph.
totally gangsta.
Remember last time we tried a cartoon rap cover?
Wouldn't that be illegal, or did you use your own photos/drawings?
Depends on the source, but hip hop's not generally known for its legality.
Depends on the source, but hip hop's not generally known for its legality.
What a great argument for doing illegal things. "Nah, it's cool. The others do it too".
It's important to consider things in a cultural context. But also I just don't really care.
Is it not a bit pretentious saying your music is "definitely going to be on iTunes"? Plus, I'd give it a shot but i'm feeling a bit lazy tonight.
Is it not a bit pretentious saying your music is "definitely going to be on iTunes"?
No, it's pretty easy to put music on iTunes.
