Was wondering if anyone else can help me out or suggest something to test. Since I've had my new computer build every time I play bad compnay 2 after around 20minutes-1hr it BSODs on me.
Now some of the parts I has in before I upgraded to an I7 so I don't think they're to blame (the graphics card, power supply and hard drives)
None of my temperatures have been getting too high, my processor is running at 50-60C maximum and while my graphics card does get hot (90-99C before the fan kicks up to 100%) if this was a problem I would have thought it would have shown in other games such as crysis 2 or portal 2 both of which I completed in one stretch so would be more likely to show any heat faults.
My current build is
Windows 7 Home premium
Catalyst control centre 11.5 (upgraded from 11.3 this morning to see if it made any difference which it hasn't)
Hardware is
I7 950 @ 3.07Ghz
6Gb DDR3 1600Mhz Corsair ram (3x2Gb sticks)
Corsair HX 700w power supply (so should be fine on the ampage)
HD 4890 1Gb
2 Western Digital 640Gb Caviar Blue HDDs in raid 1
Creative Soundcard 7.1
So far I've tried taking each DIMM out to see if it was causing the BSOD, this hasn't solved anything as it still BSODs regardless of which ones are present. I can't move them to slots 2,4,6 to test as this prevents my computer from booting (for some reason it will only boot with them in 1,3,5)
I've also tried upgrading my Ati drivers but this hasn't solved anything and tried adding a small 80mm fan to cool the RAM as it did seem abnormally hot. However this while cooling it hasn't done anything as it still crashes while the RAM is only at around 30C (checked with a fan control thermal probe)
As I said above, the computer never crashed once while playing Crysis 2 nor portal 2, it only seems to happen with bad company 2, whether it's due to how BC2 is coded or the spike in some hardware use due to it being multiplayer I don't know.
Help anyone?
Well, what does the BSOD say the error is? If the computer is restarting before you can read it, try doing this.
Start -> Right-click "Computer" -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery Settings -> Under "System failure", uncheck "Automatically Restart".
See if you can replicate the crashes by stress-testing your CPU with SP2004 Orthos (http://sp2004.fre3.com/index.htm) or maybe OCCT's CPU stress test (http://www.ocbase.com/perestroika_en/). If nothing happens after a while then you know for sure your processor isn't the problem.
Run GPU-Z in the background while you play and make it log ALL the temperatures of the graphics card to a file. You can get different readings for each part of the graphics card. Alt-tabbing out to check temperatures will not be as accurate as logging them to a file while you play.
Make sure your RAM speed and voltage is set correctly in the BIOS to the recommended values for your RAM too.

I'll try CPU stress testing tomorrow but I don't think this is the cause as I've rendered Hammer maps for hours before which put my processor use to 100% on all 8 threads. I'll try it anyway who knows.
I have HWMonitor active all the time and I don't have to alt tab out of games to check temperatures as I have two screens, I tried setting the fna speed to 100% constant and while in BC2 my max temperature was around 70C, however it still crashed after 40minutes play.
My RAM speeds & voltages I've not touched from BIOS defaults so I'll check them tomorrow.

I've already set it to not reboot after BSOD, however the error mesage isn't really clear, the only thing I recall really seeing is "STOP 0X00000124", I've tried googling it and people suggest a myriad of solutions from checking if the BIOS allows writing in 32bit to hard drives to a faulty motherboard.
Someone mentioning it might be hardware drivers conflicting with windows means I'm going to try plugging my speakers into onboard sound as Bad company 2 is one of the only programs I use that works in 5.1 so it could possibly be that. (However TF2, portal 2 and crysis 2 both have 7.1 so it might not be)
Thanks for the ideas, I'll post tomorrow once I've tried some of them.
I've now tried running OCCT for several hours, that had no problems and my CPU was no higher than 55C. I've also ran Furmark for an hour and while my GPU stayed below 95C some of the shaders etc went above 110C according to the probes, however it still ran and didn't crash.
I've reinstalled my sound card drivers to the most recent ones (still 2 years old however) to see if that'll make a difference and I've checked my RAM settings in the BIOS, my RAM was tested at 1.65V 9-9-9-24 so I've added on the extra 0.15V from the default 1.5 and for some reason it was defaulting at 8-8-8-20 timings so I've lessened them while pushing it up from default 1066 to 1600 speeds.
I'll now test the game and post back if it works or not.
Nope still crashed about 20 Minutes into play.
Error code is exactly (STOP 0x00000124 0x0000000000000000 0xfffffa8008686028 0x00000000b6000000)
