still cool but it does remove the coolest thing about it. not having to upgrade your phone every year would be nice but if they do this then you still have to upgrade. would be neat to just swap out an old CPU to make your device up to date but nah.
this just means cpu, display, and shell are bundled, not that bad
At this point with display tech as far advanced as it is, that's okay, I think.
Not being able to swap the CPU sucks, but I can understand that it's not exactly a trivial technical challenge to solve.
Still, it's a cool idea, still interested to see how it turns out.

It really doesn't though. Just put it to sleep. Its tired.
Not being able to swap the display defeats the biggest point of the device. Never mind the possibility, the suggestions of future upgrades, which may or may not ever happen - not allowing a consumer to replace a damaged screen is removing the biggest feature this modular phone had.
you don't even need to swap the whole display, just make it so you can remove the bezel with the digitizer glass which isn't that complicated.
