if there was any way to have the LED's change colors simultaneously, it would look fantastic. edit: as an idea, I really fucken like it. it looks amazing and who knows what you could do with it. you could do long exposure pictures with it in different situations, maybe attaching it to a stick and throwing it for a dog so it creates half circles. who knows. Either way, have fun with it, as it appears you have been doing!
i really like the idea of attaching one end to a cordless drill in such a way that it spins perpendicularly to the drill. if you then walk a straight line you could get some dope spirals going on. kind of like your last picture, i guess! how did you make the stick, anyway?
Its just some led stripes I bought off amazon, and right now I have to have it plugged in but a battery is on the way, to give me much more freedom, So cant wait to take it downtown! But its just that LED flex stripes taped to a pvc pipe :)
Would be 10 times more awesome if you didn't do it in an area with so much light-polution! The stick would illuminate the snow, altough the contrast blue-orange is also nice as a concept. It just doesn't really come out.
Yeah I know, I was at our family's Christmas party and that is where I made it. Once my battery gets in, Off to the woods!
You could offset the light pollution by putting the White Balance at like 2500K or the least orange setting it has. [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] Cool job with the stick, by the way.
Don't let the light stick become the main subject of the photograph or it'll just become a gimmick - kinda like wool spinning. What i mean is, use it well and don't get stuck in the mindset that because the light trails look cool it means that the photograph works well as a whole. I look forward to seeing what you come up with man! I was thinking of making something similar but never got round to it. [editline]14th January 2014[/editline] also, tip for getting perfectly round curves is tie it onto a small bit of string and spin it
Thank you, very good advice, And yeah im going to do that, Reason why they are not perfect there is cause I had to use an extension cord cause I did not have my battery pack yet. Would have some photos up but its been just too dam cold here lol
Looks pretty cool, it reminds me of fairs and rollercoasters
