Stuart Donnelly was found dead at his home in Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbrightshire, on Wednesday morning. The 29-year-old won almost £2 million when he hit the jackpot in November 1997 aged 17. He was one of 13 people to share the £25 million jackpot. The former trainee pharmacist from Neilston in Renfrewshire spent his winnings on a new home for his parents, an executive seat at Celtic Park and a new house for himself in secluded Buittle Bridge, in Castle Douglas. He also gave £15,000 to Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow, where his younger brother was treated for a genetic disorder. But in a 2003 interview, he told of the strain of winning the lottery at such a young age. He said: "It was very hard to deal with all the attention I got. I even had people camping outside my house. It put a huge strain on me and my family." On his page on social networking site Bebo, Mr Donnelly admitted that he was scared of socialising and listed his activities as: "Sleeping, watching TV, listening to music, surfing the net. Basically, anything that involves not leaving the house." A message left on the page on Thursday read: "Can't believe you're gone. I'm gonna miss you a hell of a lot. R.I.P" A Dumfries and Galloway police spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances behind the death and that a post mortem was being arranged.

...okay? Mind giving us more info on his death?

A Dumfries and Galloway police spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances behind the death and that a post mortem was being arranged.
There you go.
Looks like his luck's run out.
:rimshot: Oh well, some anti-social guy has died. I wonder if he'll be buried in a extravagant pyramid, rich bastard.
Oh well, some anti-social guy has died. He could've been backwards broke when he died for all I'm aware.
Is it possible to not get attention from the whole fucking world when you win the lottery so people don't find out your full name when you win? That'll make a ton of people want to either steal the money from you, or kill you to get your money.
I think winning the lottery is quite bad, if you have heaps of friends, but if you got few friends, it won't be so bad, party all night.
It must be damn annoying to have people running after you all the time, just because you won some money.

It may be prudent to not go boasting around, saying you´ve won the lottery. People will probably leech from you. I would´ve tried to live as normal as possible.
Kirkcudbrightshire
Strange name...
Yes, you can ask the lottery comission not to publish your details.
That seems to be the option to take, otherwise you have charities and "relatives" breathing down your neck for the rest of your life.
I wonder how many beg letters he got.
Not so lucky after all...
listed his activities as: "Sleeping, watching TV, listening to music, surfing the net. Basically, anything that involves not leaving the house."
wow sounds like a well rounded individual

I'd kill myself if that happened to me.
if i won a shit load of money i think i would move and then get a good apartment and go to college for a while and start my own business.
Some one was jealous :smug:.
what an ugly dude. [editline]10:35PM[/editline] (may he rest in peace)
If I won the lottery I'd hire a security guard to keep those retards off my property.
Yes, you can ask the lottery comission not to publish your details.
Why anyone wouldn't do everything in their power to keep everyone from finding out they won a ton of money is beyond me. It should be obvious that it would garner a ton of unwanted attention, in addition to destroying almost every relationship in your life. Think about it. Would a friend of yours keep hanging out with you if he won a million dollars? Would a boyfriend stay with his girlfriend if he knew he could move up to the next tier of women with his newfound wealth? How many relatives would ask for a little emergency help? How many charities would lean on you for a donation? There's a reason rich people build themselves massive guarded compounds in the middle of nowhere.
You mean squashed, right?
That, yeah, for some reason didn't think of the word
