Hey guys. I want to upgrade my graphics card to a 780 Linked here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EM2JQ8E/ My current PC specs: CPU: i7-870 2.93GHz (Overclocked to 4GHz) RAM: DDR3 8GB (4GBx2 at 800 MHz each with 8-8-8-24 timing) GPU: EVGA GTX 560 Ti 2GB PSU: Antec 750watt TP Is my current build sufficient to have this card without bottlenecking my system? Here is 3dmark results to help judgement: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/8034606 Thanks.
There is a chance that it is, but probably by a pretty small percent. I know that an i7 2600k wouldn't bottleneck it.
DDR2 RAM might be an issue
DDR2 RAM might be an issue
I don't have DDR2? Since when do i7's use DDR2 memory?
I don't have DDR2? Since when do i7's use DDR2 memory?
You originally listed 667MHz RAM. Pretty sure DDR3 doesn't go that low without manually adjusting clock/bus speeds [editline]2nd March 2014[/editline] Pretty sure DDR3 doesn't go down to 800MHz either

Oh yea, DDR - Double Data Rate.

You will just always be limited in your FPS by your CPU. (So lowering your graphic settings wont affect your FPS) the 870 is still pretty solid tough so dont worry about it too much.
The overclock has done wonders on increased fps. I used to average 30ish on BF3 with high settings.
