I just noticed that I'm missing a bolt on my civic's engine. How important do you think it is?

Actually I'm missing 2. But the 2nd one shouldn't be that important.
doesn't look important to me
looks like it might have been holding a bracket
Taste it. If it is salty then it is important, bitter leads me to believe that it is dismissable.
I would if I had the bolt.
Nothing bolts there. I'm not kidding.
It was used for engine ground on the EF but in your car, which is obviously a 92-95 Civic EX, the engine ground goes to the engine mount on the face of the motor.
You're completely fine and nothing goes there in the first place.

(By EF I mean 88-91 Civic in general, in Japan the SOHC ZC VTEC and Non-VTEC engines were used in the EF, the valve cover molds for all D15/D16 VTEC and the D16Y7 and ZC non-VTEC are the same but the lettering is different, D17 is similar but has a dipstick hole in it and no lettering)
Shit, son! Now that's a real engine. DAAAAAAAAYM!
D15 bro

An older picture of my engine bay to show you the old location of the ground for 88-91.
This is a D15B1 with a D16Y7 head.
If it wasn't there when you noticed it and the engine still runs, then you're good to go.
MY D16Y8 when I bought it (98 ex 5spd) I thought it was odd too that it was missing. Thought it was a small valve cover bolt missing, but didn't care so I just used it for a ground wire later.

every bolt is important, why do you think they put it there in the first place?

*shrug* It had sat for a long time and the bolts for the heat shield had rusted on, and the nuts for the exhaust were getting there, so I wirebrushed the shit out of it and sprayed it so it wouldn't get worse, we have a lot of wet weather here. Going to invest in a real header when I give enough of a shit.
