• High school students dumbfounded by the number of errors in their yearbook
Barry Goldwater High School’s 2014 error-filled yearbook is getting some laughs from students but mostly criticism from those who think it wasn’t worth the $60 to $70 price. As reported by KSAZ Fox 10, the school’s yearbook staff has, in the past, won awards, and received recognition from the National Scholastic Press Association for their stellar work. Unfortunately, this year’s publication was not their best. The Phoenix, Arizona school’s tome contained misprints, incorrect dates, and capitalization errors. One senior’s photo was printed with a quote over her face. The cover was even printed with the wrong year and volume number.
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/oddnews/high-school-students-dumbfounded-by-the-number-of-errors-in-their-yearbook-202002850.html
i never bought a yearbook for my senior year. its just an overpriced picture book.
60$?! What the fuck?! For a year book?! The only year book I ever bought at my school was like 5€, how is this 60$?! Does it come with CoD: Ghosts included or something?
Damn kids these days.
My college's yearbook was made after the committee raided everybody in the years facebook pages and stole as many pictures of people on nights out that had nothing to do with the college at all.
Who wants to remember their high school years anyways?
Who wants to remember their high school years anyways?
Have personal photos that you can look back on and smile instead of a giant 80 dollar book filled with people you either didnt like, never knew, or a combination of things. thats what i did anyways.
I wonder if it was made by a yearbook committee. They must have really not given a shit. I wonder if it was a class, like at my high school, where it's run like a newspaper, with teams working on sections of the book with editors and shit, or if the teacher showed them the basics of the software and said "have fun" and then went home
Who wants to remember their high school years anyways?
When you're in school you may think how shitty it is at times but, some time after you graduate you realize how great it was without all those real world problems.
How long? It's been 5 years and I'm still not missing it
My schools yearbook was 120 dollars, I worked on it for a year and they gave me a 5% discount. I wouldn't have bought it anyway.
If you're still in high school, get a yearbook, and get it every year. It's really nice to look back with friends every once in a while.
How long? It's been 5 years and I'm still not missing it
It varies between individuals since some had to grow up a lot faster than others. Some having to work out of necessity rather than choice and stuff like that.
Our yearbooks for our schools were definitely not worth even close to the $70 we payed for them. Hell, they shouldn't even be worth $20. They even had the nerve to put fucking ads in them. Our schools are technically separated but they're technically one because half the classes for everyone is at the other school. If that wasn't bad enough, they didn't include both schools in one yearbook. I looked at my friend's one and I was pissed off because of the genius color scheme. They put red text on fucking red backgrounds, along with a pattern that makes it nearly impossible to read. Half of the extra curricular teams and activities were not even included in them. How can you possibly get this low?
On year we had a Chinese exchange student named Li Fu, but when he came here he was going by Jason. In the year book he had four entries: Li Fu, Fu Li, Jason Li, and Jason Fu. Every one was a different picture.
the yearbook at my school was $100 and they really pressured you and your parents into buying them at literally every chance
Students recently received stickers to cover the wrong year that was printed on the yearbook’s cover. The publisher also agreed to forgive the remaining balance of $6,000 owed by the school.
[t]http://l.yimg.com/os/publish-images/news/2014-05-16/e7372450-dd36-11e3-8c60-efbaefeaa01b_2014-yearbook-sticker.png[/t]
our senior yearbook theme was instagram the front cover was the instagram app icon for fucks sake
My school gave them away for free and was made by our Graphic Arts department's graduates
I wasn't even in my senior year book...I actually was in the senior year book for another school in my state...There was a weird turn of events that happened
Half of my yearbook was in black and white and my employer bought space on the back of the yearbook to congratulate all of the people who worked for her that were graduating. Unfortunately, they replaced my name with someone who didn't even work for her at the time.
My yearbook had a section showing the yearly trends and it's some of the most cringe inducing trash you can imagine, "memes", "gangnam style", "duck face", like did I somehow go back into 2012 or something
Back in elementary, they spelled my last name wrong. 4 times. In a row.
The cover was even printed with the wrong year and volume number.
How can you fuck up this bad?
i never bought a yearbook for my senior year. its just an overpriced picture book.
I made sure to buy a yearbook only for my freshman year and senior year to see how much everyone grew. There was one guy in my grade who looked like a dork freshman year and was prom queen senior year.
this happened to my grad yearbook too, a bunch of spelling mistakes throughout the book, missing pages, etc. they had to give out stickers/pages along with it for the students to fix it themselves :v
I was always under the impression that yearbooks were so expensive because of the color ink.
When you're in school you may think how shitty it is at times but, some time after you graduate you realize how great it was without all those real world problems.
I'm 23, when does those feelings start?
Who wants to remember their high school years anyways?
Generally people who were not social recluses and had friends
Our graduation committee spent our funds on a dinner at a Hotel and a small van load of booze. Little year books were planned but we opted for hoodies instead, they had "Sex, crime and tonic wine" written on the back of them. We were classy lads. Speaking of this is the only video I could find of that grad day, we had just broke into a building site:
