The complex sits on the site of the 2001 terrorist attacks and plans include four buildings, the 9/11 memorial and museum, a shopping center, and a transportation hub, known as the oculus. The memorial and museum have opened, as have parts of the transportation hub. Two of the four World Trade Center buildings have been completed, and 5 million square-feet of office space has already been leased.

you've been flying high today?
on cough medicine, yeah
The whole complex looks very futuristic and sticks out compared to the older buildings.
Just in time for another plane to hit it.
Just in time for another plane to hit it.
Right now those Russians could do it if things get worse with (Ras)Putin.
Just in time for another plane to hit it.
You planning something? Care to tell us?

How did I miss this entire construction?
America's Phallus
How did I miss this entire construction?
Well as you can see it only took about 5 seconds
I still think we should have thrown our entire GDP for a few years at constructing this motherfucking gigantic tower, but during construction we hid it under cloth or something so nobody knew what it was. Then when it was complete, amid all the speculation and shit, we yank the cloth off to reveal a gigantic dick with a hundred gigawatt laser at the tip that can zap motherfuckers all the way over in Afghanistan. [editline]11th September 2014[/editline] Then we use it to exact revenge on all everyone who has wronged us.

Soooo, i hope there's a anti aircraft missile launcher on the top of the towers, would not want the same thing to happen twice.
Kinda embarrassing it took so long.
Thatsssss a nice tower you got there... It would be a shame... If sssssomething happened to it...
Kinda embarrassing it took so long.
Isn't it pretty normal time frame for a building this size?
Does anyone have that internet archive thingy where you can go back to what I think were the Something Awful forums and watch their reactions to the event unfold? I remember seeing something like that, except it was for several TV stations, and you could start playing it from 20 mins before it happened and watch as they reacted live as well.
I wonder if there will be manpads on the roof...

One of the guys predicted it was bin Laden who was behind it.
It's a great looking building.
I'm very curious how the facepunch forums would be after another major us attack. I imagine 75% butthurt and 25% jokes.
No wonder why they call it "Freedom Tower".
Hasn't been called that in 5 years. Now it's the "One World Trade Center." What's laughable is how I have relatives who live in New York City and they still assert that it's the old name.
The whole complex looks very futuristic and sticks out compared to the older buildings.
The whole sticking out thing is intentioninal. Architects generally design with skylines in mind, and this will be a good addition to NYC's since what was there before was pretty memorable.
