Good news: the Soberanes Fire is at 67K acres with 50% of it contained

Fire crews have had a tough battle the last few days.

Saturday night, the fire made a big run and was pushed southwest toward Big Sur by winds. Flames jumped a bulldozer line northeast of the Pfeiffer base camp.

On Monday, wind was still fanning the flames and fire could be seen burning down the ridge lines from the peak of Mount Manuel. Crews were able to do some backfire operations and even more followed on Tuesday, and the hotshots teams have reported the burns are going as planned.

Well, good news part is 50% of is now contained as opposed to 6% yesterday.

Not good news is 67k acres being burned down.
