Sladen joined the BBC television series in 1973 as Doctor Who's assistant Sarah Jane Smith. In more recent times the Liverpool-born actress went on to appear in four series of The Sarah Jane Adventures on children's channel CBBC.
Apparently she had cancer.

[editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
who?
Elizabeth Sladen from Doctor Who, actress on an old show see how I turned your pun there
She was one of my favourite companions out of them all. She'll be dearly missed. :smithicide:
Well shit, I didn't expect that. What happens to her show now? D:
Didn't see this coming either...
Wow, that's out of the blue. RIP.
Why is it that famous people die of cancer more than anything else?
Why is it that famous people die of cancer more than anything else?
Because cancer is a common death. Everyone gets it several times a year, but your immune system usually catches it. All it takes is one particularly nasty mistake in copying DNA to make a fatal cancer.
Rest in peace. You were the definitive companion.
Wasn't she the star?
yeah the doctor suddenly turned into a woman after being male 8 times
yeah the doctor suddenly turned into a woman after being male 8 times
Well, she was the star of "The Sarah Jane" adventures.
she stopped being in it ages ago this is sad news because of this: it's a sad day
Please tell me that was an ironic parody and not a real television show.
Please tell me that was an ironic parody and not a real television show.
No it was not a parody... and yes it sucked. Still She will be missed.
Please tell me that was an ironic parody and not a real television show.
If I recall it only had one episode.
She was my first Doctor Who companion, she will be missed. :frown:
I was just starting to get into The Sarah Jane Adventures, :(. RIP.

Don't worry. She'll just transform or do some Doctor Who shit like that. Good thing I don't watch this show.
She will be missed :frown: :siren:NSFW -removed-
what the fuck man that's my childhood
Because cancer is a common death. Everyone gets it several times a year, but your immune system usually catches it. It's that sometimes your cells fuck up copying each other and that, if not stopped, can lead to cancer.
I did not see this coming. She looked so healthy, too. But that's cancer for you, it bubbles deep beneath the skin, unseen until discovered. R.I.P, Elizabeth Sladen.
Aaaw :( I liked her!
