Hey Facepunch, I'm here again. I've always gone to you for reviews of my music because my friends are inclined to be nice. Don't be a dick, but I'd like your opinion. :)
Mainly I'm looking for your opinion of the Electro House Megamix,(then again I don't expect you to listen to the full hour) but anything constructive you could offer would be great, thanks.
Especially if any of you know about equipment, I'm wondering what equipment I should get. Mostly for just mixing.
Here's the link!

It would help if you posted what you were talking about.
WHOOPS. I bet it would.
I dont like it. I dont like techno err electro, what ever you want to call it.

That's dissapointing. If you know someone who does, send it their way.
Not really my type of music.
Gave it a listen, what I can say is that it was a tad repetitive.

Why would you reply to the thread just to say you don't like it? If you dislike it, give a better reason than "I don't like techno."
Anyway.. the style of a few of these mixes are a little harder than what I'm used to listening to, but it seems to be on par with some of the harder electronic genres I've heard. In the maelstrom megamix, you need to really work on the mix. The kicks and vocals are WAY too loud, they're covering up a lot of the other sounds. Adjust each sound volume on its own and don't even touch the master volume, that's the key to a good mix. I think that you may just have the volume up too high on one track. Perhaps you have the high/mid/low knobs up all the way? Try not to do that.
Right now I'm listening to the mix of Satisfaction and Moar Ghosts 'N Stuff. This one is very well done, you can hear the sounds of each song clearly and there are no colliding frequencies. I do notice when you're adjusting the high frequencies. Be a little more subtle about that.
Overall, most of your mixes sound pretty good. The Electro House Megamix is really good, I like it. The song transitions are pretty much flawless.
What hardware/software do you use?
Thanks man, it's nice to know people enjoy my music. Alot of people have said they really enjoyed the satisfaction + moar ghosts n' stuff mix.
Are you talking about the Angerfist megamix? If so, yeah I did think things were way too loud, I had things turned up because something was wrong with my headset. I should've dampened it with Audacity or something before uploading it.
As for high/mid/low knobs should I even use those, or just leave them? I'm really glad you liked the electro house megamix, I'm pretty proud of it.
As for software, right now I'm just using Virtual DJ because I don't really wanna shell out the money for equipment before I know exactly what I should be getting.
The high/low/mid knobs are extremely useful, yes, please use them. If you have two songs running at the same time, frequencies, especially in the low end, will clash. You can use the knobs to completely cut the high, mid, or low frequencies on either song. Like the beat to one song but the melody to another? Turn down the mid and high on the beat, leaving the low end, and cut the low end off of the melodic tune. Catch my drift?

Yeah, I assumed that's what they were used for. Do you know much about hardware? If so, what should I get?
Controllers can be pretty expensive. I hear the Numark MxTrack is good for beginners, though, and it is extremely cheap for a controller:

You're already familiar with Virtual DJ, and the MixTrack is geared towards that software. However, talking to DJs, I've been told that Virtual DJ has lag between the controller and the program. Everyone says that Itch is the best program to use for DJing.

A friend of mine has a controller, I'll have to talk to him about what I should get. I was planning on getting something like this:

Or this:

I really have no clue what I should be getting haha.
This Itch software only comes if you buy the hardware as well, or could I get it without the hardware?
The build-up is way too slow and repetitive.
That opening sound is annoying throughout the whole thing.
The upbeat that came with the speech bit was too fast.
It really sounds like you put some random sounds together.

I meant for the build-up to be slow, repetitive not so much haha.
I didn't have an opening sound through the whole thing. o.o
Which part are you referring to when you say upbeat with speech?

Newest mix, I don't think it was as nice as the other, but I'd like someone to check it out and offer some criticism. Thanks. :D
I often listen to this kind of music when I'm studying. Is it possible to PM me with the other link too? (it's broken) I can listen to the full hour tomorrow :)
