Simple thread :D
What size is your camera picture folder on your Hard Drive?
This is mine:

Post yours!
72.7GB but this is growing by about a gigabyte a week.
~38GB of stuff I've taken since I bought my own camera. Probably had 10 or so gigs from my photo class, but I didn't transfer most of that off the computers.
23.6GB because I have a 1000d and mainly use film.

Only since January
1.87 GB
Not been into photography long most is off a Sony DSC W350 and a few off an Olympus compact and most is Urban Exploration, and now I use mainly film
Pssh. 323 MB.
That's my 'best' stuff. The only stuff I keep.
Everything else is about 2 gb's of unsorted RAWs or stuff I haven't deleted yet.
Some of your numbers don't fit together too well:
ijyt: 82.5GB - 3770 files
gaboer: 42.6GB - 23000 files (?)
Dierag: 13.4GB - 13500 files (even more ?)
Just wondering :v:
[jookia@jookia-arch Camera Stuff WB2000]$ du -hc --exclude=Videos . | tail -1
2.4G total

3.7k 18-28MB RAW files will be around 82GB.
I have 4.2k files at 23.6GB, lol 1000d.
I will post mine but I have a question first, will it count the folders inside my main camera folder? Mainly because I have an "old Camera" and "To upload" section in there.

Okay it does say the folders, all together is 1.56 GB
About 16.6GB and it's 99% shit I forget to wipe from my memory card before importing to lightroom. I bet the stuff I'd actually want to keep is much less than 100mb :v:
And thinking about it, I've got loads of them backed up from my last reformat, so that's probably nowhere near the total...
I'm on my Mac now, but all my pics are on my PC. I have saved all photos I've taken since I got my first DSLR in 2006, and it was 248 GB last time i checked about 2 weeks ago.

Well, you've got a lot of factors. Some people store mostly JPEG, others keep everything RAW. Some people may even compress their stuff, though I don't know how effective that is given most image formats are already compressed. Different brands also have better or worse compression, and depending on how many megapixels your sensor turns out you will also have different sizes. Ijyt says his RAW files are 18-28MB; mine are typically 9-15MB. He probably has a larger sensor OR a different brand OR an older camera with less effective compression.
Mine is only like 10gb because I back it up to an external hd every so often.
and that takes a while to connect so I don't know how big it is
Heh, I actually keep my entire photo collection on an external drive and back up to an internal one on my desktop nightly. Lets me work on either my desktop or my laptop without too much hassle. I use Microsoft's SyncToy and Task Scheduler to automatically copy everything over, and it's also set up to synchronize some of my AppData for Lightroom so my export presets, watermarks, etc. are consistent.
18GB roughly.
Winners, winners everywhere
I have deleted all of them, but in total, i probably have had around 10-15 pictures
my portable photos-only archive drive

I REALLY should consider an online backup service or something. :I
400 mb... But that's only final edit pictures. All of my raws and jpgs that are just collecting virtual dust is about 2 gb
