Yeah, but it can be found cheaper.
For example, at D2D
I'd assume the bugs will be addressed shortly.

The game may have problems which they are working very hard to fix, and are doing so successfully, but to answer your question: Yes, the game is definitely worth $50, let alone the $38 D2D sells it at or any other cheaper prices you can find it at. The game is fun and will keep you entertained for a long time, and the devs plan on supporting it in the long term with content updates and such.
My only concern is that I feel sort of ripped off in terms of story, I guess they had to cut the actual meat of the story out. For example, in some older gameplay footage, at the end of the mission you could see a cutscene where they're opening a container and find something glowing green at them. Hopefully DLC in the future adds more story. All though there's still plenty of story, there are plenty of audio logs you can get by beating levels that provide a lot of background and such, it's just not as great as having cut scenes.

There was just an update today fixing a TON of bugs and performance issues people were having so if you were having reserves about buying it because of that then you should pick it up now as it is awesome
