-snip-
0:41 Zanzibar vibes :o Does the game still use a heavily modified version of source? And about those mod tools...
Barely looks or feels like source
But it is
Barely looks or feels like source
Until a texture breaks and that familiar purple and black chequered pattern comes to greet you.
I really hope this takes off alot better than TF1 because both are fantastic and unique (while still being loads of fun) compared to the traditional FPS faire.
Holy shit, that Titan kill at 0:20 was brutal!
Barely looks or feels like source
Wait, they're still using Source? I thought they had moved to a different engine.
i mean cod:iw looks pretty good too and afaik their engine is still based off the quake 3 engine
I guess I'll have a reason to dust off the XB1
Nope, their former team had a C++ branch of iD Tech 3 and the closest thing to what their team had experience on in the past was Source, I say it looks pretty impressive with all things they are doing with it
They had a prototype on another engine (iD Tech 3 ?) and they gave up on it because it was too much of a pain to work with iirc
Titanfall 2 still uses their highly modified version of Source. Makes sense because they have everything pretty much set up which means they can go in and add new stuff and also tweak pre existing stuff to play better.

I'm really looking forward to this. TF1 was a ton of fun but the community died after a year and my anger at smart pistols made me rage quit
People still play TF1 on PC. There's a pretty consistent 150+ people playing everyday in the attrition playlist. Last night there was about 350 people playing. Hopefully having new maps be free keep th community alive this time. I want to get the game on PC, but the quick "death" of TF1 on PC is making me lean towards getting the game on Xbone.
They had a prototype on another engine (iD Tech 3 ?) and they gave up on it because it was too much of a pain to work with iirc
The earliest prototype was on Source. After they started working on it full-time, they were given access to an engine used by Insomniac (I believe) but didn't like it. So they stuck with Source.
Looks like some badass robot destruction with even better movement control; I love it. Especially the way the grappling hook and sliding seems to work
Awww yiss, new Titans, new playermodels and new execution kills. Stoked.
Really looking forward to this. TF1 was a blast, with the only downside being the lack of end-game content (so to speak). More weapons and challenges will be a good way to add in more incentive to come back, to unlock/beat things and try out different playstyles. Customisation of your character and titan will also be a huge plus, especially if you can actually change their looks this time around (though looking at previews, this doesn't seem to be case unfortunately).
I hope they still have the grunts and shit running around. That added to the battle to me.
The test begins on my birthday :toot:
I hope they still have the grunts and shit running around. That added to the battle to me.
I think they're only in one mode this time. Not 100% sure on that though.
Here's hoping they get rid of the bullshit auto-aiming pistol and the self-destruct nuke

Titans look like you can customize their color. It's cool that you can play as a robot without needing the burn card now. And I hope they keep Titan OS voices again, that shit was awesome.
I fucking love how the titans just grab you in their hands to put you in the pilots seat. this shit looks dope
Am I the only person who really didn't enjoy Titanfall? It was the first game I bought for Xbone and there was so little content that I pretty much unlocked nearly everything within a week. After that it got so samey and boring I never touched it again
Here's hoping they get rid of the bullshit auto-aiming pistol and the self-destruct nuke
The Smart Pistol is back but it's being reworked apparently. How so we don't know yet.
“We are going to be bringing back the Smart Pistol, but different,” he tells us during our interview. “[We know] that’s what received a lot of negative feedback, and we’ve been working on that to make sure that it is a more balanced experience for all players.”
Not sure why you're getting disagreed/dumbd, that was the games fatal flaw and I think the devs know that.
Here's hoping they get rid of the bullshit auto-aiming pistol and the self-destruct nuke
Was really easy to counter and was a pain against other pilots.
