The name Rooster Teeth is a euphemism for Cockbite, an insult used in one of the group's trailers. Originally, the group ran a website called drunkgamers.com, a reviewing site in which Burnie Burns, Gustavo Sorola, and Geoff Ramsey reviewed video games while drunk in order to try to get games from video game developers. The story centers on two opposing teams of soldiers fighting a civil war in the middle of a desolate box canyon (Blood Gulch), in a parody of first-person shooter (FPS) games, military life, and science fiction films. Initially intended to be a short series of six to eight episodes, the project quickly and unexpectedly achieved significant popularity following Characters Red vs. Blue features characters whose personalities are skewed in different ways and to varying degrees. Character interaction and dialogue, rather than action, drive the story.[4] The series has centered on eleven main characters. Other characters, both team-affiliated and unaffiliated, human and non-human, have played significant roles throughout the story. Notable new characters are The Freelancers (mostly shown in the Season 9 flashbacks) The Director, The Chairman, Carolina, Tex, Wash, Maine (aka Meta), York, North and South Dakota, Wyoming, and C.T. (Connecticut). The A.I.s are also important characters: Alpha, Delta, Omega, Gamma, Epsilon, Theta, and Sigma.
When they don't want to do Machinima
Following the positive reception of Captain Dynamic, Rooster Teeth began producing another live-action series, Rooster Teeth Shorts, a sketch comedy which parodies life at their offices in a similar fashion to the webcomic. The series features the staff of Rooster Teeth, who all play caricatures of themselves, as well as occasional appearances from voice actors from some of their machinima series. The first season ran for twenty episodes, which along with the Captain Dynamic mini-series has been released on DVD.
The greatest podcast ever Start listening to the podcast at work or school, seriously
On December 9, 2008, after temporarily reviving a feature on their website from their previous website, drunkgamers.com, where the staff talked about different topics of the week while inebriated with accompanying responses in text with pictures, Rooster Teeth released their first audio podcast, The Drunk Tank, available for download through iTunes, Zune Marketplace and their website. It has since become one of the more popular features of the site, at one point becoming the #1 most downloaded podcast on iTunes, as well as a featured podcast in the iTunes Store. New episodes have been released regularly every Wednesday since April 10, 2009, with occasional special episodes or multiple releases in one week. On June 23, 2010, the podcast changed to a .m4a "enhanced" format which allows listeners to use an interactive "link dump" to be able to view more information on the topics of the week's podcast. In July 2010, Jordan Cwierz, aka JayOrDan, released the first Drunk Tank Animated Adventure (now called Rooster Teeth Animated Adventures). In October 2011 Cwierz was officially hired to produce the animated shorts full time as a feature of the podcast.[51] On September 28, 2011 Sorola announced The Drunk Tank was to be re-christened The Rooster Teeth Podcast to create a more unified public image for the company.[52] On August 18, 2010, the podcast was officially implemented into the Rooster Teeth website. To celebrate their 100th episode on February 9, 2011 they released their first ever video podcast which featured Gus Sorola, Geoff Ramsey, Burnie Burns, and Griffon Ramsey.[53] On January 18, 2012, the podcast gained its first sponsor, Audible.com.[54]
source: AbeLinkoln from Reddit EMPLOYEES The most lovable bunch of people Burnie Burns (Plays Church and is the greatest boss in the world) Gus Sorola (Plays Simmons, gets the podcast ready and is RT's angry tech guy) Geoff Lazer Ramsey (Plays Grif, in charge of Achievement Hunters, He love his daughter Millie and legally changed his middle name to Lazer just to see if he could) Griffon Ramsey (Geoff's wife, does most of the designs and make-up and was in charge of the RT comic) Joel Heyman (Used to be a Hollywood Actor, now is RT's most creative and hilarious member. He plays Caboose) Jason Saldana (Plays Tucker, Good friends with all the RT staff but does not work there, he is a lead singer of his own band, Visitors) Matt Hullum (Plays Sarge, He writes with Burnie and is the director of all the shorts, he also plays the most amount of characters in RVB) Kathleen Zuelch (Plays Tex, I don't know what she does at RT other than play Tex) Jack Patillo (He does Achievement Hunters and has a great voice, most of the RT crew find him annoying though) Nathan Zellner (Big quiet guy, he is a filmmaker and once every 5 months, he utters a few words and all at RT will perk up and listen) Gavino Free (Once a British community member who ditched Burnie to watch Revenge of the Sith when he went to Britain, now a lovable idiot at the company) Chris & Brandon (I think they edit stuff, but all of RT make fun of them because they do not seem to know a lot of things.) Kerry (Guy who looks like a kid, I don't know what he does) Barbara Dunkleman (A community member that helped out in a lot of RTs events and was eventually hired) Monty Oum (He does the sweet animation you see in the later series) Marshall (This guy need to be in more video, I love his sense of humour) Michael Jones (Rage Quit)
I absolutely love Rooster Teeth! But i don't think this is quite the right section for a thread like this to be.
Well where then.
I didn't really enjoy season 9 of Red vs Blue. I thought the CGI was kind of lacking in some parts and it wasn't really as funny as the rest.
The Rooster Teeth Podcast is fantastic, and hilarious.
Next season of RvB starts next Monday. Elijah Wood voices in it.
Greatest company ever
Oh man I remember back in the day watching Red vs Blue on my moms computer. Good times.
PODCAST DAY!
Sarge has always veen my favorite character
You're forgetting their best series. P.A.N.I.C.S. I loved this so much when I was about 12.
That was their best mini-series really, way better than strangerhood or 1800 magics. Why they have merch for the strangerhood and not panics is beyond me. (also greatest name ever, people acting normal in crazy-ass situations.)
RvB used to be good until they started to focus directly on action scenes.
They released 2 "Classic' Style RvB Mini Series on Waypoint. Should be here http://halo.xbox.com/en-us/Community/overview/roosterteeth [editline]24th May 2012[/editline]
You're forgetting their best series. P.A.N.I.C.S. I loved this so much when I was about 12.
why have I never seen this.
You're forgetting their best series. P.A.N.I.C.S. I loved this so much when I was about 12.
PANICS was pretty cool, but sadly short lived.
new Season 10 Trailer [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN1IwxXU748[/hd] The Shading and lighting of the CG scenes remind me of SR3 I like the short shot of the Frigate begin attacked by Longswords. Looks cool.
wow i thought they stopped making red vs blue when i was in like 7th or 8th grade. when the fuck was that? 8 years ago? [editline]26th May 2012[/editline] i reemember panics as well. im gonna watch this shit and see if it's still funny. same shit happened with homestar runner. i used to love it, everyone did. now when i go to the site it's like garfield, i strain to find humor but just can't when i look back. [editline]26th May 2012[/editline] panics seems to still be funny. however i'm a bit high. [editline]26th May 2012[/editline] na not funny anymore
Well every episode is on their website
god you'd have to be in your pre teens to think this shit is funny. it's just incredibly lame now. get over it.
I love the Let's Play of Minecraft and Mari0.
god you'd have to be in your pre teens to think this shit is funny. it's just incredibly lame now. get over it.
Which stuff exactly?
seems most of it. it's half as funny as it was and can be pretty irritating at times. basically that's the symptoms of realizing when we are young we have an idiotic sense of humor. it just feels made for kids. i'm not saying it's any more mature than what RT does but shit like freeman's mind is much better. honestly i didn't sample much, a few episodes here and there but i think it's enough to come to a conclusion. maybe i just got unlucky with the episodes i picked but really i can't be assed to watch anymore in fear of becoming annoyed and wasting time. they both exacerbate each other so i'm just gonna not go any further.
god you'd have to be in your pre teens to think this shit is funny. it's just incredibly lame now. get over it.
Still not as bad as when you realized that ever Adam Sandler movie was juvenile. This is better.
never was a big fan of him so i really dont know what you mean. this may be better than all that other shit primarily on the principle that RT isn't some giant multibillion dollar, industry running, blockbuster pushing media giant. they have more creative control and aren't limited by producers.
So you based your opinion on randomly picked episodes when it's a plot-based machinima and most of the humor are references to older episodes
yeah and i used to watch it religiously. i see no problem here.
Then you're an idiot who didn't actually read GNJF's post.
damn, now I have to rewatch the entire series
4 hours 12 minutes until the RvB season premier. [editline]28th May 2012[/editline] also, my new wallpaper [t]http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/gamelife/2012/05/RvB10_SpaceBattle.jpg[/t]
I will agree that the new CGI action scenes are a bit much, but there are still the occasional thing that i enjoy. Plus they have enough other stuff like the live action shorts, the recent Minecraft Let's Play and the podcast that are still entertaining.
The writers are pretty clever with the naming of the "Mother of Invention" Its from the idiom "Necessity is the Mother of Invention"
