Almost three-quarters of Americans think President-elect Donald Trumpshould release his tax returns, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll.Seventy-four percent say Trump should release his tax returns, which the president-elect refused to do during his campaign. At his first post-election press conference last week, Trump argued that no one but members of the media care about his tax returns, reiterating that he won't release them while he's under federal audit.
He also argued that he could run his businesses and the government simultaneously, but has decided against it, putting his two adult sons in charge.
Americans are divided on whether Trump and those surrounding him are adhering to federal ethics laws. Forty-three percent believe they are, while 43 percent believe they are not.

The survey was conducted via cellphones and landline phones Jan. 12-15, polling 1,005 adults. It has a margin of error of 3.5 points and was conducted in both English and Spanish.
gonna need a much larger sample size than that imo
but i'm sure the number is large anyways.
That would reveal what the man is most insecure about: his wealth.

P sure with modern sampling techniques 1k people is enough for a study like this
And his birth certificate!
Fuck it, considering how anal he was over Obama's, I say this is fair.

1 thousand is basically the standard lol
whether this is a "good" poll depends on other factors such as how it was conducted, and there don't really appear to be glaring flaws at first glance.
And his birth certificate!
Do you really think the two are equatable? The "Obama's birth certificate" thing was racist bullshit. Trumps finances warrant investigation.
Isn't there a tradition of releasing this information for the sake of disclosing potential conflict of interest?

Yeah. Sample size isn't the problem, but I agree we should see just a couple more polls to gauge it, since it's a sharp uptick. Wouldn't be too surprised though, since this miasma of Trump-Russian ties has sullied any goodwill being held out for him, and made him look incredibly suspicious.

Imagine an amazing universe where Trump was just using the birth certificate thing so people wouldn't realize he himself wasn't born in the U.S.

It was a joke about how Trump started Obama's birtherism.

There was a tradition of doing that, but I think it's safe to say we've just thrown it right out the fucking window.

stop criticizing methodologies if you don't know anything about quantitative methods. I'm tired of seeing posts like this.
But the polls are wrong!
Forty-three percent believe they are, while 43 percent believe they are not.
What
Well then the rest of the percentage don't know. But why they write 43 with letters instead of numbers, I don't know.
Lets do some basic stats here and lets say we want a 95% confidence interval (Which is generally accepted as a solid confidence and a respectable poll) with two choices of "Wants to see Trump's Tax Returns" or "Doesn't care".
A sample size of 1k out of the 324mil that is the current US population, we can see that there is a error margin of 3% which is pretty damn close to their error margin (Using the above data, its more likely that the real number of people wanting to see his tax returns are between 71% and 77%).
Do the math yourself.
TL;DR: The sample size is fine and reflects the US population pretty well.
i wanna see his long form tax returns, i know we'll find some very fishy stuff in them!
