Immersive Technology Alliance launched by companies like Oculus VR, EA, Panasonic, CastAR and others
Well, this is certainly a motley crew: a variety of companies in the virtual reality space are teaming up to create the "Immersive Technology Alliance." The group is an evolution of an earlier consortium, The Stereoscopic 3D Gaming Alliance -- apparently the world of 3D gaming no longer needs their support? Anyway, the renamed group includes major game players like EA as well as little teams like Technical Illusions (of CastAR fame), as well as the company most responsible for re-introducing VR, Oculus VR. The ITA list includes all the players you'd expect, but also has a few outliers in Epson and Panasonic; Sony isn't part of the ITA just yet, but that may change sooner than later.
If Sony finally announces their PS4 HMD next week at GDC, let's hope they join in.
Oh man this sounds amazing.
VR will be the biggest achievement in gaming for over 15 years.
Here's to hoping EA doesn't try and eat all the success from this alliance.
praise the Omnissiah
Welp EA was mentioned, how many following posts are going to derail into shitting on the giant pile of dung that's already been shat onto EA by every human in existence?

It sounds like a fucking superhero group.. The Immersive Technology Alliance!
I wonder if it's possible to have something like the Sword Art Online, Nervegear. That's the literal endgame of all gaming technology. The moment when we can be actually apart of the game :v:

Is Razer gonna be like the aqua man of this superhero group?
Using it's powers to summon devices that don't do anything to help save PC gaming?

if VR is the best we can do then it's probably time to stop playing video games.
Seriously how can people even say that, it's just a screen strapped to your face, yeah it's immersive and all but it isn't really that big of a deal. I'd be more excited about the quality of output of video games themselves to be honest, I mean I'd rather not see most PC games use OCCULUS RIFT as a selling point like the wii's motion controls and actually utilize it as an element to enhance gameplay.

I'm surprised Valve is not a member, considering their interest in VR at the moment.
