Hey PC Building My current specs are: Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.80ghz, unknown mobo from a prebuilt and unknown ram from the same prebuilt (8GB though). I want to upgrade these three items with a budget of 250-400€. I don't need the best, i'm more interested in value for money. Just something to keep my PC updated. Is it worth it and if yes, what should I get? I have an 850w Antec PSU and a MSI Geforce GTX560ti which i bought last time i upgraded my PC so the new stuff has to fit in of course. I prefer intel CPU's and nvidia GPU's. Help is very appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I would not recommend upgrading your processor/mobo with that budget. The affordable upgrades won't be worth the money. I say this after just upgrading from a core i7 860. I did my research, there isn't a whole lot that's worth upgrading to at the moment. Save your money until you can drop a little bit more. By that time, it'll be worth the upgrade. Right now, the 860 is plenty fast.
Although a 4670k is better is almost every single way, I'd agree with Ultra. The benefits are not large enough. You should not have many problems at the moment with it, and the 560ti would be a bigger bottleneck than your i7. Broadwell is coming out early next year. I'd say wait and pick up whatever top end i5 comes out of that.
Yeah thought so. Thanks a lot for the quick responses, very helpful :)
