Freedom fighter Bernie Bernanke's has just carved another notch in his liberation bed post. With everyone expecting Saudi Arabia to fall next, or even South Korea, following days of consistently unreported bank runs, it is North Korea which takes tonight's gray swan award. From The Chosunilbo: "Hundreds of people clashed with security forces in the North Korean town of Sinuiju on the border with China on Friday, a source in the Stalinist country said Wednesday. The military was deployed to quell the demonstration, leaving some protesters wounded. The source said police officers cracking down on traders in a market in Sinuiju after the public holidays marking leader Kim Jong-il's birthday beat one of them unconscious. The victim's family protested and many other traders went along to support them. When it looked as though other people might join the traders, security agents and military troops moved in. Rumor has it that four or five people were killed in the resulting clashes, but no details of civilian casualties are known." So how much are those North Korea CDS again? And how much longer does China think it can suppress its own 1.3 billion-strong tsunami?
More:

The security forces were reportedly on emergency alert in the area after the incident. A defector from Sinuiju said, "Since Feb. 15, I've had difficulties communicating with my contact in Sinuiju. I called him at a pre-arranged time but his mobile phone was turned off."
The source said while the protest was sparked by the crackdown in the market, it was an eruption of long pent-up discontent.
The regime had promised to dole out special rations to Sinuiju residents ahead of Kim's birthday on Feb. 16 but reportedly failed to keep the promise. People were also angry that the regime was once again trying to interfere with their attempts to earn a living in the market.
Meanwhile, the online newspaper Daily NK reported on Wednesday that the regime created a special mobilization force to prevent any demonstrations similar to the recent uprisings in the Middle East.

And since North Korea has no problems with devaluing its currency, expect to see Won raining from the sky a day or so ahead of the latest farcist monetary repudiation, as another attempt at whorism goes whorribly wrong.
Why does north korea's Glorious people want to fight against great leader?
viva la revolution!
You can expect more of the bullets + civillians combination.
I think this will end up twenty times as bad as Libya.
I thought NK was cut off from the world how did they hear that other revolutions were going on?
I think this will end up twenty times as bad as Libya.
Their lives were twenty times worse than pre-revolution Libyans anyway
SO MUCH FUCKING PROTESTING I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!

How could this happen to Best Korea?
SO MUCH FUCKING PROTESTING I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!

Knowing kim jong retard, he'll do something stupid like nuke his own people/gun ALL of them down and hire actors to replace them.
[editline]24th February 2011[/editline]

It was probably more of a coincidence, but I get the feeling they're just tired of living under such shitty conditions.
Holy shit so many protests this year.
VIVA LA REVOLUTION

VIVA LA REVOLUTION
Well, it's mostly the media suddenly giving a fuck,
Just like the earthquakes in Haiti. Every time there was a earthquake after that, they'd blow it out of proportion.
I wasn't surprised with the ME and all but NK of all places? Isn't the place almost completely cut off technologically?

I dunno, I think that's half true. Protests haven't been this bloody or of this scale in a fair few years (In so many countries, I mean)
But yeah, they need to stop going on about floods and earthquakes.

Uhm, I don't think revolutions happen as often as earthquakes...and this is new, people in NK are supposed to be totally brainwashed, but them actually protesting is incredibly dangerous for them.
This can't possibly end well.
viva la revolution, fuck the cowboys!
What's this about South Korea having protests and likely to fall?
This is just amazing, I wonder if they knew about all the other countries that are protesting or was it just a coincidence?
Maybe I'm the only one finding it funny that everyone is using a phrase taken from one of the most well known communist revolutionaries in support of the take down of a communist regime. I'd just like to state the irony in that.

well the phrase isn't really about communism, it's about action really
you'd kind of miss the point on why che was symbol, it wasn't his economic policies
Grab your popcorn and coke, this'll be fun to watch
I love how this is going to be in the History Books.
I love how this is going to be in the History Books.
You mean the history wiki/History E-book.
I love how this is going to be in the History Books.
If it escalates to a revolution sure, but this is just a protest thingie. Libya however (and egypt) will definitely be in the history books

I'm quite scared because of all this protesting.
This cannot go down well.
Can someone link another source for accuracy and legitimacy?
