No justice, no peace? People need to get over it, the trial is over. It's retarded to think that because Trayvon got killed in self defense that "young blacks are being targeted" so they've gotta "stand up to the cops". The trial happened, it's over and done with. That's the American justice system, he had a fair trial, and proved his innocence. No matter what anyone says. If you don't like the justice system then go move to North Korea or some other country instead of ruining the one you're in. Either that or you're gunna face the justice system aswell.

It's barely been a full day, and the case isn't anything close to Rodney King's case. Already places like tumblr have started to quiet down about the protest within 24 hours. Because the only reason the case went to trial in the first place was because social justice advocates began a movement to try Zimmerman.

I have a feeling most of the people protesting didn't follow the case further than the first couple of weeks.

Sigh I was hoping with the internet shit like this wouldn't happen as people actually have easy access to direct sources of information now instead of the sensationalized media "We made him look racist for the ratings" crap as your only source of news "He was a victim of violence :( :( :( " Yes lets completely ignore that the "violence" was caused and started by him in the first place. Someone dies under the age of 18 in a tragic manner and everyone instantly assumes that the person who died is instantly an angel just because the races are different and he was a minor, so the media ran home with it.

In fact, the simple fact that this case and this jury didn't cave under pressure and call a guilty verdict simply because the whole thing has blown out into a racial dispute is a huge win for 'justice'. How is this targeting black people exactly? The verdict given has absolutely nothing to do with the colour of that young man's skin, and these people protesting need to get that through their heads.

They claim to want justice, but what justice is there in condemning a man who has already gone through the legal process? What exactly are they trying to get out of this?

You can't be tried twice for the same crime, right? So, no matter how many people riot, nothing will happen... Because it's already happened.

So I'd say Zimmerman really didn't have too many options at that point.

I dunno, I expect the anger probably has more to do with everyday racism that these people face - this case was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Trayvon, rightly or wrongly, has become the figurehead for the larger problem.
