The recipe was kept under wraps until 13,000 people signed an online petition demanding to know it, and someone even filed a freedom of information request. Mr Obama has been taking the beer with him on the campaign trail, and is said to be known to offer it to voters. For weeks, the White House had refused to comment on the recipe, but the secret was finally aired in a blog post entitled "Ale to the Chief". The long-awaited special ingredients include: light malt extract, amber crystal malt, honey, gypsum, yeast and corn sugar. "With public excitement about White House beer fermenting such a buzz, we decided we better hop right to it," says the White House's assistant chef Sam Kass, who brews the ale. 'Incredible' Although Mr Kass is the brewer, the White House stressed that it was Mr Obama who bought the equipment and pays for the ingredients out of his own pocket. There is also a video on how the beer is brewed. "God, that is one incredible beer, if I do say so myself. America I wish everyone could taste this but we don't quite brew enough," Sam Kass comments at one point. The BBC's Zoe Conway says cynics may say there is more than a bit of politics in the mix. One of the oldest political cliches states that people vote for the person they would most like to have a beer with - and Mr Obama's rival in the November election, Mitt Romney, a Mormon, does not drink.
Obama, don't you ever stop being awesome.

but muslims can't drink alcohol. if he can't keep his promise to god how can he keep his promise to america
They should license it to like Anheuser-Busch or something and use the money for government stuff The only government to sell its own beer
And then Obama won.
but muslims can't drink alcohol. if he can't keep his promise to god how can he keep his promise to america
Alcohol is wrong in all religions, therefore all presidents are lairs. So nothing has changed
Alcohol is wrong in all religions, therefore all presidents are lairs. So nothing has changed
Why bring religion into politics. They should be completely separate. Although they aren't.
i bet hes putting poison in the beer or some sort of ingredient that makes you vote for him typical liberal trying to steal the race for Mitt Romney
Why bring religion into politics. They should be completely separate. Although they aren't.
hey i didn't start it i'm gonna tell the teacher on you :'(
Alcohol is wrong in all religions, therefore all presidents are lairs. So nothing has changed
Alcohol is not wrong in all religions I think you need to do more homework on religion before you try to make claims in a religious debate or you might say something completely incorrect like 'Alcohol is wrong in all religions' and that could make you look a little bit silly
Welcome to America.
If we could just move America somewhere where the air in their heads is needed. Maybe we could use all that for terraforming the moon or mars...
how do you get white house honey?
white house bees
Alcohol is wrong in all religions, therefore all presidents are lairs. So nothing has changed
Is not wrong in any really. It's never forbidden, just frowned upon.
That was pretty damn cool, I'd imagine he uses it for visits like that medal of honor recipient, must be a great thing to toast with the goddamn president of the US with his own home-made beer.
Man, I want to try this out now. Brew my own Obama honey ale.
Obama giving minors access to beer brewing recipes. The horror never ends. Keep our children safe, Romney 2012.
Alcohol is wrong in all religions, therefore all presidents are lairs. So nothing has changed
I'm no expert, but I recall that there was a religion somewhere that had this bread and wine thing going on. It was a fairly popular one from what I heard.
That looks insanely tasty
I believe Alcohol is actually worship in old pagan religion like Hellenism and the old Egyptian gods. Only the most famous of the religions (mostly Abrahamic religions), dislike the use of alcohol.
Alcohol is wrong in all religions
The Catholics would like a word with you
