Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe admitted the force must "do more to build trust" after a jury found the 29-year-old was lawfully killed.
Good. Cops should be wearing cameras whenever they are on duty, and no I'm not saying that because of the "fuck all cops" mentality. It protects them, and everyone else involved. There should also be severe penalties for "missing" video footage as well.
Video cameras will protect whoever does the right thing.
everyone in the countries needs to be video camerad so we are a safe nations
everyone in the countries needs to be video camerad so we are a safe nations
There's a difference between the constant surveillance of everybody in a nation and ensuring that somebody in a position of power, which can easily be abused, has to go to great (and obvious) lengths to try and obscure any abuse of said power. This also helps for video evidence of things where the officer's own evidence alone may not be enough.
We could probably do with something like this, especially since we too recently had a controversial police-related incident. Police was called because somebody said there was a guy on The Hague train station with a gun and supposedly threatened someone. Police goes there and finds a 17-year old guy who matches the description. They approach him, shout 'hands up', instead he reaches for either his pocket or waistband. The guy got shot and killed, later found to be unarmed. Took some time for that to finally come out, video cameras on the officers would've greatly sped up things.
They have video cameras that can be mounted to picatinny rails so you can see exactly what the gun is aimed at. I don't know if they're using them though. They might just be mounting them on vests or helmets
Definitely good, protects both parties and gives police a chance to review operations Still confused about how Duggan was found to be both unarmed and lawfully killed, but maybe he was considered a threat because of how be got rid of the gun? Realise that it's a pretty fucking intense job to do but still.

I imagine they would only need a bit of modification to be suitable for police use. Maybe twice the price so in the $200-300 range. $600 for two camera's per firearms officer doesn't sound too bad expecially when all their gear already costs upwards of $3K
everyone in the countries needs to be video camerad so we are a safe nations
I wouldn't really mind having a small automated video camera on me at all times assuming it wasn't intrusive, and that it was actually under my own control. Would be pretty useful, really.

I always thought they should have something like this bloody brilliant now that it's going through, hopefully it'll transfer over to NI
