I've been messing around with plastic for a couple months now, with mixed results. I just never seemed to be able to get the suction I wanted. With the help of a dremel and a round file I cut two holes through this bacardi bottle. I used gum to seal gaps, and clay around that to hold things in place and such. In the somewhat near future I'm going to get a glass bowl and downstem to make it all gog. This thing is fuckin airtight, and it's going to be amazing.

(Also my same Lifewater bong)[/QUOTE] I used a pressure gauge as a bowl for a while, and found that it was just too small, and it was a bitch to get weed in there without spilling shit everywhere. If you go find a socket to fit around that ridge, using the square part as the bowl it will make your life a lot easier. I added a screen inside the socket and it works like a charm. (just ripped apart a small strainer, there's packs of 3 at the dollar store) I've used the same bowl/downstem on four different home-made pipes, it's a good system. (the downstem I'm using now is an air pressure gauge tube, just unscrewed the part that goes around the stem, works well for me. I'm using a 11/32 socket and it's put around the threaded end, there's some small gaps that you might want to seal up but it's pretty nice)

I usually make like one use bongs. Out of a pop bottle and some tin foil. Pipe bongs are pretty good.

I did have a rubber duck pipe I made, using the top of the head as the bowl (with tinfoil) and smoked from the back, it had its own carb. It was my first pipe, kinda meh. I use a spoon now

Well, here's two ways to do a homemade bong (with optional percolator and 2nd chamber). [U]The basic way:[/U] First, take any plastic bottle (preferably clear, I used a tall gatorade bottle) and empty out all contents, take off the wrapper thing (has nutritional data on it), and take the cap off (keep this for later). Now, go find a pen that has a decent diameter and is pretty long. Take a lighter and apply heat, very close to the bottle, right under the middle until it's moldable but not burning through. What you want to do now, is take that pen and push it into the area you just heated up. It should push through and make a pretty airtight fit. Position it so the hole that is inside of the bottle is at a 45 degree angle, and almost touching the very center of the bottom of the bottle. Now, using either duct tape (ghetto), electrical tape (alright) or hot glue (best), seal around the seam where the tube and the bottle meet. You should now have something similar to this: [img]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/basicbongstep1.PNG[/img] [I]Black is bottle/stem, blue is sealant[/I] Now, you need two more things. First, you need to have a bowl. Take a piece of aluminum foil and coil it around your finger. Now, take it off of your finger (still coiled) and cut off a piece that is roughly 1.5in. Now, gently press on one side of the coil to make it crumple a little bit. Try to form a smaller diameter end by rolling it with a little pressure between your two thumbs and pointer fingers, almost like rolling a joint. Get the diameter to a little smaller than your 'stem' (the tube going through the bong), and then gently put it in the hole on the outside. Now, with your pinky finger, press it into the hole. Do this so that the bowl is in place, and crumpled a little bit on the inside (to act as a screen). You now need one more thing. Take your lighter and grab another pen. About two inches above where your stem is, heat another small patch of plastic. Stick the pen through so that it forms a hole, and wiggle it a little bit to make the hole bigger. Now take the pen out [B]before[/B] the plastic cools, so that you just have a hole on the bottle without a pen in it. You now have a bong! [img]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/basicbongstepdone.PNG[/img] [I]To use, pack a bowl full of your smoking substance (mine is bud :D). Fill the bottle up with water until the water level is one inch above the hole at the bottom of your stem. Hold bottle with your left hand and cover hole with preferred finger. [B]Make sure it's covered all the way.[/B] Now, take your lighter in your right hand, and light it. Press your mouth against the normal drinking hole, with the bottom of the bong nearly parallel with the floor. Put the flame of the lighter slightly onto the smoking material, so it starts to burn but not catch fire. Breathe in slowly through your mouth, and pull smoke to fill the bottle. Stop lighting the material when it starts filling the bottle fairly fast. When it's as full as you think you can handle, take your finger off of the 'carb' (hole above your stem) and breathe in all the smoke in the bong. Hold it for ~3 seconds, and breathe out slowly. If you need to cough, do so. Enjoy :)[/I] [U]The Advanced Way (:[/U] First, before we start this, you need to gather these materials: 1x Small diameter pen (white bic pen is preferred) 1x Large diameter pen ([B]the small one must fit into the tube of this one![/B]) A little tape (electrical is preferred), or some hot glue (preferred over tape) 1x Bottle (tall gatorade one is preferred) 1x Bottle cap from previously stated bottle A small metal wrench socket (looks sorta like [url=http://filesmelt.com/downloader/socket.PNG]this[/url]) A lighter Some bud (preferably ;D) First things first. Take off the wrapper on your bottle, discard. Remove all the innards from both pens, making them just tubes. Take the bottle, and about 1/3rds the way up the bottle from the bottle, heat the plastic there until it is malleable. Remove heat, and stick the large diameter pen tube through it towards the bottom the to-be bong chamber. Should look something like this: [img]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/step1.PNG[/img] [I]Black = bottle, red = large diameter pen tube, green = bottle neck, brown = bottle cap[/I] Now, take some tape/hot glue and seal the seam between the large diameter pen tube and the bottle. Make sure it's 100% airtight. Now, take the small diameter pen tube and stick it into the large diameter pen tube. It should fit, but be a tiny bit loose. Stick it in about one inch into the large diameter pen, then wrap electrical tape around [B]ONLY[/B] the small diameter pen tube (the area right next to the end of the large diameter pen tube). What this does is it keeps the small tube from falling into the big tube, and also makes it a natural rubber stopper. Make sure that it is both easily removable and air-tight. Fire up the glue gun now, if you have one. Now, take your socket, and place it on the non-taped side of the small diameter pen tube (the stem). Hot-glue the seam between the outside edge of both the stem and bowl, but make sure to not get any in the actual hole on the stem. Let it dry, then smooth the hot-glue by rubbing the hot tip of the glue gun over the hard glue fairly quickly back and forth. This will spread it out and make it hold a bit better. Let it dry. Then, take your tape and tape around the hot-glue seam. This looks a little better and makes it more air-tight. Then... Wait, you're done! That's all you need to do. Simply fill the bottle up with water until it's one inch above your downstem (the large diameter pen tube), then pack a bowl. Place lighter flame onto bowl, put mouth onto bottle mouth (with the cap off, dicklard), and breathe in slowly, until the bottle fills with smoke. Then, take lighter flame away from bowl, pull the stem until it comes out of the down-stem, and breathe in all that smoke in the bottle. Hold for three seconds, breathe out slowly, cough (if you have to). Should look like below: [img]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/step2.PNG[/img] [I]Black = empty bottle, blue = water level in bottle, red = downstem, light green = stem, purple = bowl, green = bottle neck[/I] However, if you add a couple optional additions to this, it can become an amazingly smooth and hard hitting bong. [U]The second chamber! (Pros: Makes bong hold more smoke, filters the smoke twice, making the hits smoother. Cons: A little tricky to make.[/U] What you need: 1x finished advanced-way bong 1x empty plastic bottle (preferred coke/diet coke) 1x bottle cap 2x pen tube (normal pen w/ emptied out insides, and one that fits inside of the downstem you made previously) A knife Scissors Electrical tape/duct tape or hot glue, pick one A small metal wrench socket (looks sorta like [url=http://filesmelt.com/downloader/socket.PNG]this[/url]) Some aluminum foil First, take the stem (with bowl attached) off of your finished advanced-way bong. Put this somewhere for later, we don't need it for this build. Now, take your empty plastic bottle and your scissors. Cut along the purple lines marked in the picture below, and discard the middle part (which is just a tube). Now, place the two remaining parts together and seal the seam with hot glue or electrical tape, and make sure it's 100% airtight (by trying to breathe in from the bottle neck and not being able to). You should have something like this: [img]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/chamberbottle.PNG[/img] Now, take the pen tube that fits into the downstem of your finished advanced-way bong. Put it one inch into your down-stem on the bong, then wrap electrical tape around the area just above the end of the downstem. This will make it airtight and so that the 2nd chamber's stem does not sink into the downstem. Now, take the bottle's cap and the other pen tube. Take your lighter in right hand, cap in left. Heat the top of the cap (the part that's facing up when the bottle is sitting up on a table) until it is malleable (for about 45-60 seconds), then stick the pen tube through the heated top of the cap so that about an inch of pen tube is left sticking out of the top of the pen cap. Wait for it to cool, then seal the seams of the pen tube and the cap with hot glue (if you have it). If you don't have hot-glue, then don't seal it with anything as electrical tape is messy when placed into small areas. Screw the cap onto the small bottle you made. It should stick pretty far into it, but not all the way to the bottom. Take the other pen (the WIP stem) and your lighter. Now, you want to burn a hole in the area in the picture below, then stick the un-taped pen through said hole, upward. Let it cool and seal the seam with electrical tape or hot-glue. It should look something like this: [img]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/chamberbottlestep2.PNG[/img] [I]Black is the stem that goes into the downstem of your bong, blue is the pen tube that goes through the cap[/I] Now, make a slidable bowl by taking the wrench socket and adding a cone of aluminum foil to the small tube-like part on the bottom of it. Hot-glue the seam between the socket and the aluminum. You're pretty much done. Fill it with water so that the water level is about an inch above the bottom of the pen coming down through the cap. Now, stick the other tube (the stem for the 2nd chamber) into your bong's down-stem, pack a bowl, and light 'er up! It should be a bit smoother, and it also serves as an ash-catcher so your normal bong's water doesn't get as dirty. Here's what it looks like finished (pretty much): [img]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/chamberbottlestep3.PNG[/img] If you really want some ultra-hard and mega-smooth hits, then add one more thing onto it... [U]A percolator![/U] What you'll need for a perc is: Your bottle cap from your bong. I said to keep this ;P A small pen tube A small pill bottle without the label A knife Electrical Tape or hotglue (preferably hotglue) Another bottle Scissors Lighter First, take the bottle cap. Heat the plastic in the very middle of it until it's malleable, then stick the pen tube through it. Leave enough room on the pen tube to go atleast halfway up the pill bottle. Now, hot-glue the seam on it (or leave it be if you have no hot-glue) on both sides of the cap (top/bottom). Screw the cap onto your bong. Now, take the pill bottle, take off the cap, put it up-side down over the tube and bottle cap. It should go all the way down to the bong's plastic. Hot-glue it in place as it is like that, then wait for the glue to cool. Take your knife and poke eight to sixteen small holes around 1 inch from the bottom (before, top) of the pill bottle. Take the other bottle, and cut off the bottom so it fits over your bong and perc, and electrical tape/hot glue it in place. Now fill it with water to right above your holes on the pill bottle. If everything is fine and dandy, there will be no leaks and water will not be going into the lower chamber on the bong. If it works well, then dry-pull it and make sure the water in the perc chamber bubbles out of most of the holes you poked. Attach your 2nd chamber, pack a bowl, and light it up, because it'll be so smooth you'll be thanking me after this long fucking tutorial :v: Here's a picture of my bong that I made with this (this is my old unupdated one with the permanent 2nd chamber): [img]http://filesmelt.com/downloader/newbongperc_001.jpg[/img]

Just a little hint for those custom plastic bottle bongs. [b]If you can't (for any good reason) buy a bong, buy a separate base instead.[/b] (Plus the grating thingy on it) Then just, burn 2 holes on a bottle, insert the base on one of them, fill it up with a little of water and get high. This is [b]excellent[/b] for people who seriously can't risk it getting caught with a bong. And bottle-bongs can be just thrown away after your smoking session.
