British Prime Minister David Cameron is reportedly to receive a personal iPad application created by the Cabinet Office that will him provide real-time access to NHS waiting-list figures, employment numbers and a whole host of other data, the Telegraph reports.
According to the report, the idea was inspired by advisers to the U.S and will deliver real-time data from social networks, including information from Twitter and Google, helping the Prime Minister utilise his iPad for important government business.
iPads have become the tablet of choice for the world’s leaders, with both U.S President Obama and David Cameron utilising the devices extensively within their offices. Earlier in the year it emerged that Obama was a beta tester for the iPad 2 and uses a DODOcase to protect his Apple gadget.
Despite the shift to digital technology, Mr Cameron is still insistant that submissions are made through the formal process, which includes the delivery of papers so he can add notes and submit to staff for review.
According to sources, the Cabinet Office is currently working on the app and it is expected to be available for Mr Cameron to use in March.
Yep, there's an app for that.
Gosh, this new technology makes my job so much easier! *hits the Oppress Poors button*
"Prime Minister David Cameron, would you please stop playing Angry Birds on your Ipad?"
Oh fuck off Cameron no one likes you.
*beep*
"Just a minute Samantha, the peasants are revolting again"
"Push the slider left and right to adjust lower-class taxes, Mr. Cameron."
"The slider cannot go further to the right, Mr. Cameron."
So Cameron has a portable "Veto" button now?
Oh come on, doomed to fa-

Okay, that sounds useful.
Hah, does anyone remember that article about why the American DoD went with Android instead? Because of the security leak of having everything go through Apple's servers on iOS?
GG British Parliament, GG.
Idiots.
So Cameron has a portable "Veto" button now?
I'd imagine the unlock screen would be ''slide to veto''.
So the UK government will shut down in a year from now when iOS 6 is released and the app no longer runs?

Why can't everyone have this app?
Has David Cameron had a hair cut?

that's not right
where's the raise taxes button
Oh fuck off Cameron no one likes you.
He is alot better than Gordon Brown and you know it
I hope the app lets him personalize the background image so he can put a picture of Thatcher there
Okay, that sounds useful.
How is that useful?
It's not like he is able to finely micromanage any of it
It's just bullshit PR
He's not going to be sitting going "Oh damn, this hospital has a larger waiting list... We'll send them more needles!"
Real time data is worthless when it's updated monthly and legislation takes even longer to put into place

You make the critical error thinking that the UK government actually uses information, ever.
It's still missing a "Raise Tuition Fees" button
EDIT: Oh and a "Nuke France" button. Now THAT'S useful
What's with the Cameron hate? He's a fuck-ton better than the Labour cretins.

Well we Canadians hate him because he reminds us of Harper

I'm sure they thought of that and are using a similar customized version of iOS that Obama uses for his iPad that allows him to run the free world while maintaining opsec.

For some reason I get a T-1000 vibe from his look.
Quite a nice idea I think.
And yeah, lots of Cameron hate here. Meh.

Anyways, I wouldn't be surprised if another security hole pops up like with American DoD.

Because what could be more important than Facebook and meaningless data that you could already access with a computer, amirite?
