Blue Screen of Death on booting from external drive
5 replies, posted
I am trying to boot my laptop from an external hard drive, I installed Windows XP on the drive, and it starts up to the splash screen, but right after the splash screen, I get the blue screen of death. Any suggestions of what this may be? Thanks in advance,
USB, firewire or eSATA?

Reason I ask, is eSATA should work, but USB will take a LOT more work to get it booting:

No idea about firewire...

The thing is, my internal hard drive is broken. So I am trying to get it to run through external.
Not gonna work unless you follow all those steps in that linked article. I was going to try it before, but I can't be arsed with that much shit. Good luck though :buddy:
Thanks for your help
No problem, kudos if you get it working too!
