• New CoD confirmed, Activision claims it will be "Full Of Innovation"
With two sets of developers working pretty much all the time, there’s a new Call of Duty every year. It makes sense for publisher Activision to do this; every year, the new Call of Duty ends up decimating the previous year’s sales tally. As the biggest property in the world’s biggest entertainment industry, there’s no denying that Call of Duty makes money – and of course there’s be a new one this year. What it generally lacks though, is innovation – and the Call of Duty games are getting dangerously close to pushing gamer fatigue and saturating the market – just like we saw with Guitar Hero. Not this year, says Activision. In an investor call, The publisher said that this year’s Call of Duty – developed by Treyarch – is full of “meaningful innovations.” They haven’t said exactly what those innovations are, but have expressed their interests in "growing Call of Duty Elite." "This year we expect to further expand our presence with the launch of an all-new epic first-person shooter title under the Call of Duty brand. From what we’ve seen to date, the game already looks fantastic and will bring meaningful innovations to the franchise," they said. What sort of innovations can we expect from Treyarch? Underwater Vampires? Werewolves from space? Mummies in wheelchairs? Zombies on the moo…oh no wait, they’ve already done that. More importantly. what sort of innovations would you like? Keep milking
new gun colors + one new perk ~innovation~
They will add like a few guns, skins, and a few perks along with a short as shit story. Woo
Just stop...please...I dont think my heart can take this anymore
I have nothing against CoD but this has to be the most blatant lie that I've heard this year. And we're only 2 months in.
If it is selling (more than) well, why wouldn't they?
Because it will die out, like Guitar Hero did. If they innovate, the series will last longer. However, their plan seems to find a successful idea, milk it to death, find a new idea and repeat.
we're getting vehicles?
gave me a good laugh
They will add like a few guns, skins, and a few perks along with a short as shit story. Woo
I don't see how they can continue off of MW3's story considering it's ending. Hopefully they'll start with a new set of characters
terminator nazi-zombies.
I don't see how they can continue off of MW3's story considering it's ending. Hopefully they'll start with a new set of characters
Remember this is Treyarch now
It's great because MW3 has barely been out for 4 months.
I bet the innovation will be adding vehicles... And conquest modes and... wait a second... They are making Call of Duty: Battlefield next!
I actually liked blackops for its new features and customization. It kept me entertained for a couple of months.
I remember the old days when the Call of Duty series was produced with effort, didn't have fucking 13-year-olds running all over the place, and was genuinely entertaining and enjoyable to play. A supposed related image (possibly fake)
When you think about it though, Modern Warfare 20: T4c71c00l Edition might actually be a semi-decent game, since the games took a sharp decline in quality and have been reclaiming it very slowly.
new gun colors + one new perk ~innovation~
You have to word it differently. Our franchise is up there because it is always two steps ahead of its competitors. That's why we made our team sweat day and night to come up with a completely brand new high definition visual graphic user experience that will take the immersion of the player to a whole new level and allows us to explore the real depths of player customization this console generation has to offer. We also made radically different changes to our skill-based ability unlocking tree algorithm engine that will take the best of the old game and combine it with daring new ideas we'd like to introduce in our next installment of the glorious supreme leader of the genre.
All jokes aside, I suppose since Treyarch will be developing it that it actually will be "full of innovation". They're the only ones who actually brought something new to the table, not drag one game on across the span of 4 years like Infinity Ward did. They didn't leave us with a cliffhanger in their games either, you started then finished the game. I'm looking forward to it.
3 new maps + 1 new gun + 3 perks. Also shitty campaign Wow. The best of Cod is Mw2 still i think.
HATS.
Inb4: Call of Duty 9 turns out to be a game which learns from it's errors, the new release has a new physics engine, and uses more higher resolution textures and better quality models. The particle system has been revised, and they changed the jam on the fact to be a bit less chunky, but players can't take as many bullets as they used to. The plotline has multiple choice areas, a prime example would be having to save a high ranking government official, rather than killing one of the multiple antagonists, but doing so would make that government official die, and the plotline dramatically changes. The plotline also brings what many (ex) players want, wanting you to be in a whole squadron rather than the lone "badass" who takes down a whole [del]terrorist[/del] Russain conspiracy by himself and a handful of others. Multiplayer has been changed, dramatically. Rather than a tiny map with a handful of players, the maps become outstandingly huge, featuring land forces, sea forces and enough airspace for air battles; with up to 64 players in one multiplayer game. They also revise it so that if you are playing on the British team, for example, you can only use weapons and technology that the British Armed Forces could use (Example - a Westland Apache). Also each map will have control rooms, where players which are not skilled at shooters can use their other skills as communications. They can call in drones regularly, which can target certain enemy technology, like tanks, to aid the team by not being amazing at Call Of Duty. Call of Duty: Elite is also scrapped because they decided it was a huge mistake while revising their multiplayer experience. Then it fails, as millions of teenagers don't beg their parents to buy it as they think it's shit. Activision then lose most of their stocks due to the negative reception from a lot of pre-pubescant teenagers dislike the game. Soon Activision is declared bankrupt.
beep boop
I say this every year, but I'm optimistic. Although I hate Activison with a passion, I do have faith that both Treyarch and Infinity Ward have a ton of developers who are actually really creative. I think that if Activision has given them a little bit more freedom, and realise that innovation actually does sell, then this could really work.
Kinnect Required.
They kind of have to start updating the graphics and adding new stuff. If they don't, no sane person will buy it.
The best of Cod is Mw2 still i think.
MW 1 all day erreday.
we're getting vehicles?
They were in CoD: United Offensive, you actually got quite a few. Still, I'm hardly hopeful for this.
If it were a CoD game completely based around the zombies, with a silly plot and characters to go with it, that would be interesting to say the least. Because really, 90% of the people I know bought Black Ops for the zombies. And even then, it wasn't nearly worth it. [editline]10th February 2012[/editline] Didn't WaW have vehicles? Tanks at least.
