[QUOTE]People in the northeast are more used to blizzards than tornadoes. But two powerful twisters struck the Springfield, Mass. area Wednesday, killing at least four people, flipping cars, and collapsing buildings.
Massachusetts Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick activated the National Guard and declared a state of emergency. He instructed residents to shelter in basements and bathrooms, and noted that one man was killed when his car turned over in West Springfield.
"There's just total destruction," said one man who was driving through West Springfield.

Actually the tornado season this year has been quite severe.
Holy shit that was awesome. Never seen something like that before
I was in Boston yesterday during 5:00 traffic. The area was under tornado warning and that slowed things down a lot. Streets were gridlocked. People were afraid of a tornado touchdown in Boston, and I could hear the weather news in all the cars around me blaring through the open windows. It was interesting, to say the least. There were some very violent thunderstorms later in the evening, but nothing like the supercells that hit Springfield and Monson.
