Nothing beats a classic movie trilogy. And while nobody is rushing to compare "The Hangover" to "Star Wars," director/producer Todd Phillips is aiming to end the hugely successful morning-after comedy franchise with a third and final chapter next summer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Phillips confirmed on Thursday that "The Hangover Part III" will indeed wrap up the series when it's released next summer.
"We're going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned," Phillips said. "It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions." The movie is slated to hit theaters on May 24, 2013, hoping to capture some of the same box-office magic that the second installment grabbed when it launched on that same weekend in 2011 on its way to a massive $581.5 worldwide gross.
Additional good news came with the confirmation that after extensive negotiations, stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis are all onboard for the third go-round. To date, the first two movies have grossed more than $1 billion worldwide, a rarity for an R-rated comedy franchise. It was such an unexpected smash, in fact, that the Reporter noted that Warner Bros. studio didn't even sign the stars to option deals for sequels because no one expected the original 2009 film to gross more than $467 million. That resulted in the "wolfpack" trio getting "hefty" raises for the second film and a reported $15 million each for the third movie.
Phillips will again work on the script with "Part II" co-writer Craig Mazin, but he would not tip his hand as to where the third movie will take place. The magazine reported that a recent draft of the script indicated that it was set in Los Angeles and that it deviated from the "what happened to us last night?" formula of the first two films.
Cooper recently lent credence to the script speculation
when he revealed in a December interview, "We adhered to the formula in the second one, for those of you who've seen it, and the third one, which would close the whole sort of trilogy, which now it would be a trilogy — even though we thought we would never make a second one, let alone anybody see the first one — I think it will take place in Los Angeles and maybe not adhere to the structure. It might be different."
I have a feeling like this one will flop.
copy, paste, change location = hangover 3
Definitely won't be as good as any of the other ones. The Hangover Part II was good, but it lost quality, and I assume that as it progresses the same will happen with the next.
Why? Hangover would've been great as a single movie. Second one was trash. Except for the money and asian penis scene.
americans will go see it regardless.
I really hope they make up some new stuff for this. I liked the second movie, but it was a lot like the first movie. If the same goes for this 3rd one, it's going to suck.
I'll just assume the writers got some awesome ideas and that's why they are going to make a 3rd movie.
People actually find these movies funny?
Even the first one was crap
Great, I have to go to another week of school where I have to listen to people talk about this shit.

I respectfully disagree. I thought the first one was funny, and even the second one, despite the fact that it was pretty much a copy structurally.
For the third one, Allan will have to be the one getting married.
Better have another kid getting his fingers cut off
I worry that Chow will not be in this one :(
I never watched the second one, Hell i didn't even watch the first :v:
I found the first one to be funny, while the second was a disappointment. A third one is just too much.
(The first one also put Zach Galifianakis on the map)

I like to watch these movies because they're just trainwrecks of unfunny and bad writing
keep milking the cash cow.
It'll end up like the Rush Hour movies
I found the Second movie was better then the first.
Didn't really like the first.
They should get really fucked up and die in this one. Like do 30Kg of cocaine and just die.
The troll with the beard is getting maried this time with a post order bride from chili, they all arive in chili to get married. Celebrating before the marriage, the dad and some random main character goes missing. Turns out they burned down some poor village and angered mobsters. To save the day he has to sell his left testicle and shave his beard. In the end mike tyson will steal the show.
There is ur script.
I'll probably watch it
The Hangover seems to be the only movie that most people have seen in their entire life.
I'm exaggerating, obviously.
ken jeongs character is the best in these movies
I'll totally watch it. Then I'll eventually be disappointed and whine. But first I'll watch it.
Hangover 1 was glorious. Hangover 2 was okay.
i haven't even seen hangover 1 or 2 yet
Meh I'll watch it cheap, I'll probably enjoy it regardless considering I'm generally easily pleased when it comes to films.
I'll watch it for lols, don't care if it will be good or bad, I just want to go to the movies and watch a fucked up comedy.
Go in with zero expectations, if its good then awesome but if it sucks nothing of value was lost.
Spoiler: It's going to be shit, like the first two.
