and then read this http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com/
Interesting read, but not sure if that is true in its self, the video tells us that he isn't in Uganda, but the article says "Is Joseph Kony Even In Uganda? Nope. Uganda is in a phase of rebuilding. The Kony 2012 video and Invisible Children make it seem that Joseph Kony is a monster ravaging through Northern Uganda as if he were Godzilla stomping through Tokyo."
there has also been like a million threads about this already.

Only has 400k views so far :( [editline]7th March 2012[/editline] Wouldn't call it "an internet storm" just yet. Give it a couple of weeks.
400k views in 1 day
2 days actually. And yes, 400k views is undoubtedly a lot of views, and its future is definitely promising. But I think the views will explode maybe a week from now.
and then read this http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com/
Least my money went to mods :v:
http://blog.joerenken.com/2012/03/07/invisible-children-and-kony-2012-exposed/
The video explains that. Its obvious that the man who wrote that blog(Which isn't a good source) barely watched the video.
Man all the fucking stupid people on my facebook make me mad. They watch some dumb feel good video and just instantly take it as 100% truth and post "hurr durr KONY 2012" shit. Like what ever happened to critical thinking and looking at things objectively?
You're thinking objectively. And also yeah I just found out AFTER I bought my title, shucks but no money paid to IC
I have a rather popular video on YouTube. And now all I see in the comments is "KONY 2012 JOIN THE CAUSE" It's starting to piss me off, really. It's nice what they're trying to do, but I have this feeling it's getting really overhyped, and it'll eventually become forgotten or abandoned. And even then this is just another "cause" in the pile of hundreds. This ones just getting more attention...
You're thinking objectively. And also yeah I just found out AFTER I bought my title, shucks but no money paid to IC
durp wrong word thanks. And lol you fucked up nigga
-snip-
Like what ever happened to critical thinking and looking at things objectively?
You assume there was some to begin with.
Posted the "anti kony" links and stuff on my cities hurr durr Kony group. Probably gonna be me versus 800 hipsters but it'll be funny
The video clearly explained he moved out of Uganda, you need to pay attention.
http://blog.joerenken.com/2012/03/07/invisible-children-and-kony-2012-exposed/
But... the film says he's mostly left Uganda and moved into Central Africa, hence why Jacob was able to leave to America. I get it, this is the internet and cynics are abundant but come on guys. This isn't a BAD cause; it's made to make Joseph Kony famous, the over-hype is intentional. If you think it's more important that you don't have to sit through some annoying Facebook posts than at the very least letting people raise awareness for the abduction of child soldiers then you need to reconsider your values. I sense people are going to disagree, but just think that it could have been you born into that kind of life. No one's glorifying themselves with the 'I'm such a good guy' persona by sharing this video, and if they are by all means hit them over the back of the head with a shovel. Besides that, I see nothing wrong with it.

Read the blog better.
Yes and the blogger realizes that. Read the blog better.
I have, and I've read the responses he's leaving. He's a nutter.
Not trying to be edgy, trying to make idiot airhead college and university students realize they are getting duped.
While you're getting duped at the same time.
I didnt even bother watching it or even finding out more because I assumed it was sensational bullshit and/or viral marketing. Is my assumption correct?
Depends who you talk to.
While I did essentially agree with the video, I didn't like the whole 'hard sell' spin on it. And not to sound like some genocide hipster, I've been banging on about the LRA for years on this forum and no one gave two shits.
I didnt even bother watching it or even finding out more because I assumed it was sensational bullshit and/or viral marketing. Is my assumption correct?
well, not quite; i'd recommend finding out more about it anyway.
I didnt even bother watching it or even finding out more because I assumed it was sensational bullshit and/or viral marketing. Is my assumption correct?
If you make your decision based on the fact that other people are calling it sensational bullshit then you'd be as bad as anyone jumping in it for its popularity. Watch it and form your own opinion; ignore what anyone else says.
Can't go 2 fucking pages without seeing this video.
