Were these games good? I played the demo for the first game long ago and I enjoyed it because of the mechs and grapple.
I always wanted to try the series but they all use GFWL so I'm kind of doubting if it is worth the try.
One of the most fun and underrated shooters I've played, Lost Planet 1 is a fun ride throughout the campaign and Lost Planet 2 is a total blast with co-op, in a way it's a 3D Metal Slug with tons of fun vehicles/mechs, fun boss fights and fast paced action, and the progression system and boss fights are similar to Monster Hunter. Both games aged pretty well graphically and the discounted price is a great deal. I'd probably skip Lost Planet 3 though, it's pretty much a watered down Gears of War and was developed by another company, only thing that's really interesting about it is the huge mech customization, and even then it sorta fails to make the most of it.
I wish Lost Planet 2 was integrated to Steamworks, would remove the annoying GFWL and potentially breathe some new life into the game.
Is LP2 coop possible currently?
Servers are still online. It is just a bitch to get GFWL to work.
