Hoping to use economic promise as a bridge to a peace deal between Palestinians and Israel, Secretary of State John F. Kerry announced an estimated $4 billion economic development proposal for the West Bank on Sunday that he said could cut the 21 percent unemployment rate by two-thirds. “The greatest existential threat and the greatest economic threat to both sides is the lack of peace,” Kerry said. “To not try to head these off would be tragic, and it would be irresponsible.”
source $4 billion is the current GDP for both Gaza and the West Bank. This is a huge economic boost.
Wait, who's providing the 4 bil?
Don't worry about it, guess you didn't get the memo we can print as much money as we want. This deal isn't going to change anything, we already give money to Israeli and they don't listen or give a fuck about what we say. We can't buy our fucking friends, we need to just sit back and let them take care of their own business.
Wait, who's providing the 4 bil?
Apparently American tax payers(?).
Wait, who's providing the 4 bil?
NASA.
This is a good idea, assuming the money does not come from terrible cuts in the budget that will affect the poor and NASA.
meanwhile people of gaza are being punished and ignored for democratically choosing Hamas as their government. inb4, how their election wasn't democratic - because that totally justifies punishing the population. I dont think the 4 billion will help the west bank that much, PA are a bunch of corrupt fat cats anyway. Probably use this money to boost their own investments/businesses/properties abroad.
