Emmure cut their set short in Moscow, Russia today (May 07th) after band frontman Frankie Palmeri was electrocuted onstage.
Band guitarist Mike Mulholland tweeted:“I’m so sorry to all of our Moscow fans who came to see us tonight, the stage was unsafe and electrocuted @FrankiePalmeri. We will make it up”
He further offered:
“…he will be ok but the stage wasn’t wired safely & shocked the shit out of him. A sad day for us but we’ll make it up.”
Band guitarist Jesse Ketive also took to his own Twitter, offering:
“Sorry we had to end early Moscow! We love you, but when Frankie gets electrocuted from the mic on stage.. Shows over.. We will be back!!”
Update – May 07th 12:14pm:
Palmeri himself has tweeted on the matter:
“Sorry I almost literally died on stage tonight #Moscow. Getting zapped by 200 volts feels like shit. Ya almost got me tonight. #STILLALIVE”
That looks bizarre.
That almost looks fake, praying for him though.
Holy fuck.
Just the way that he stopped entirely and fell over.
Glad that he seems fine, can't imagine what that felt like.

Severe muscle cramps and burning is what it feels like.

Nah even the guy that tries to catch him gets shocked

he wasn't "electrocuted" though
electrocution is death by electricity
He's pretty lucky, some dude died in 72' by grabbing hold of a Mic on stage that wasn't grounded properly.

To me, who has been indirectly struck by lightning, it's like some strange of icy burning feeling.
Here is some thread music.

Ace Frehley from Kiss wrote and sang that song after he got shocked really bad on stage back in 1976.

You would think by now we would have worked out the bugs so this doesn't happen...

Shocked I'd imagine.
I know it's sad that he got electrocuted but I just find his reaction hilarious, he just kinda stopped in a single pose and fell over.
Stage equipment is serious shit. Don't ever fuck with it, and don't cheap out when you are setting things up, because someone will end up paying for it.

Wiktionary says it doesn't necessarily mean fatal.
Wiktionary says it doesn't necessarily mean fatal.

Definition of ELECTROCUTE
1: to execute (a criminal) by electricity
2: to kill by electric shock
— elec·tro·cu·tion noun
Origin of ELECTROCUTE
electr- + -cute (as in execute)
First Known Use: 1889
using it for non-fatalities is simply incorrect
and that wiktionary page only lists it as an informal definition, since the word is often used incorrectly. that doesn't make it correct though, and the fact that a news site even used it this way is just poor writing
What was it exactly that conducted it through him? Exposed metal on the mic or something?
He bashed his head against the box as he went down.. ouch.
It's not the volts that kill you, it's the amps.
It's not the volts that kill you, it's the amps.
Though more voltage means more pain, at least if the amps are moderately high.
1KV at 0.5A would be a fucking bitch.
It's not the volts that kill you, it's the amps.
You need a combination of both...
It only takes up to about 50mA across the heart to cause it to seize. However, 10V with a maximum of 100A at the source won't even faze you. Your skin has natural electrical resistance, whereas our internals are far more conductive. Once our skin is broken down by electricity, current begins to flow. It really only takes about 30-40VAC for the average human to actually feel the buzz. It's once you get up in to the hundreds that a significant amount of current can flow. Though this current may never reach the heart depending on where you're grounded, it can cause severe internal burns and destroy nerve endings.
Crazy stuff in the metal/-core worlds lately. The As I Lay Dying thing and this. Weird stuff. I have never like Emmures music, but that really sucks. Hope he gets better.

Genreally speaking this is true, However it is not as simple as that, A good explanation is here:

Because it's just so important.

Ninjad by an hour. Keep your tabs open folks!
Dude is a real douche
It's not the volts that kill you, it's the amps.
Except the voltage determines the amperage. I can hold 120v fine and it only tingles slightly. Higher voltages are much more dangerous not only because the current is higher, but also because it can break down the skin easily.. then you're in real trouble.
edit: what the other guy said.
