The future is here guys. EDIT Here's some little bit info from Kotaku
As for the HMZ itself, the OLED screens lend to a beautiful picture, though the head-mounted display has the standard flaws. Depending on the shape of the head of the user, it can be difficult to comfortably wear the device, and many people find the dual-screen setup to be disorienting.Kotaku had reporters at the Tokyo Game Show 2012 Sony booth, playing Metal Gear Rising Revengeance on an HMZ and there were complaints of lingering headaches. At the demonstration at the Prototype-SR booth, however, the staff went to painstaking efforts to ensure the best, most immersive experience with the Substitutional Reality System and that is indeed what was delivered. The Prototype-SR is very much an experimental prototype (hence the name). As mentioned above, according to a Sony spokesperson, the purpose for its development is to showcase the potential of the HMZ and that there currently are no definite plans to market the Prototype-SR. Still, the concept is quite intriguing, and the experience itself was a lot of fun. Private home-use would most definitely be restricted by the visual development side rather than the hardware itself, so logically, something along the lines of an amusement park attraction would probably be more feasible as a foreseeable use of this technology. Strictly promotional or not, however they end up using it, it will awesome to see, zombies and all.
Interesting
Perhaps you should post some additional information.
Perhaps you should post some additional information.
I am inclined to agree, considering the weight the words "virtual reality" carry.
The video is confusing. Is there some text?
So it's augmented reality goggles. I'd say that has potential. ARI anyone?
I love it how she's the same person both in the video and reality to mess around with that guy there confusing him on what's there and what's not.
I've tried the previous generation, the field of view is awful. This generation was only upgraded with higher resolution screens and a camera at the front, nothing special.
I've tried the previous generation, the field of view is awful. This generation was only upgraded with higher resolution screens and a camera at the front, nothing special.
Wouldn't the field of view change because of the larger resolution?
I can't wait till someone invents a small, cheap 64x64 or so display that mounts on sunglasses or something that I could use for things like mail notifications and GPS heading and the time instead of all this complicated stuff.
I loved how he actually got scared of the zombie one, raised his hands as it got close
Wouldn't the field of view change because of the larger resolution?
It could be the same size screens with more pixels on each of them.
