Pretty damn cool.
I like how in these speedruns, every single move has a purpose.
Is it tool assisted though?
Edit:
It's not.
A couple times there I was sure he was going to die, I was rather surprised.
What a nostalgic game....
I must confess... I've never understood what the advantage is with spinning your mouse every time you jump.
Very interesting though.. you should send it to VALVe for shits and giggles, just to see what they'd say.
I saw cuts.. how is this a speedrun this way?
Barney Calhoun is....THE FLASH
That box sliding stuff is crazy.

It's a segmented speedrun.
Cocaine's a hell of a drug.
Any body noticed when he did a grenade jump on top of the elevator and ended up with 1 HP that the chapter switched to "A Leap of Faith"?

I have no idea how you can really appreciate a speedrun without knowing what bunnyhopping is

Any time you save you're allowed to load from it and still have it considered legitimate
Basically, he quick saved a lot, took the best attempts and sewed them together in video format.
Boss as fuck

I honestly didn't know bunnyhopping was related to the spinning mouse thing. Do enlighten me though, as you appear to be knowledgeable.
The execution, effectiveness, and limits of bunny hopping varies across different game engines and mods. For example, in Team Fortress Classic, the way to begin the jumps is much different from the Quake series: it begins by strafing, then aiming in the strafe direction, then jumping and so on.
Basically you move your mouse in the direction you're strafing, gives you the whole "spinning mouse" effect.

they cut out the loading screens and shortened the opening sequence where you don't move, they don't count in the time.
God, did Black Mesa train their security guards to be five-time Olympic gymnasts?

It's just how the source engine works. For some reason, strafing left and right while in mid-air will get you further than just holding w. This is also the case in TF2, which is why you see some soldiers jumping in curvy patterns.
incredible timing
Damn, on any of his first bunny hops, he already has extreme velocity. I can bunny hop in HL but I can never figure out how people even get that fast.
Laughed at how he lobbed grenades at Rosenburg to get him to run :v:
what the fuck happened at 2:28? isn't a true speedrun in my book..

How does that not make it a real speedrun...
You wind up at 1 hp far too often for me to believe you weren't using Buddha.

It's not source.

GoldSrc is essentially Source.
