[h=1]Leaked materials provided to IGN by a reader have revealed story details and concept art from Destiny, Bungie’s follow-up to the Halo franchise. Bungie has confirmed to IGN that the document was prepared by an advertising agency and represents an outside look at Destiny’s plot, key values and more. According to the document, “Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man’s Golden Age. A massive, mysterious alien ship hangs overhead like a second Moon. No one knows where it came from or what it’s here for, but only that it’s our protector. Meanwhile, strange, alien monsters creep in from the edge of the universe, determined to take Earth and the Last City. We are young ‘knights’ tasked with defending the remains of humanity, discovering the source of these monsters and – eventually – overcoming it.” Elsewhere in the document, the massive alien ship is referred to as “the Traveler.” Destiny is further described as “fun and accessible to all,” aiming “to create a universe as deep, tangible and relatable as that of the Star Wars franchise.” Based on the language in the document, it appears that Bungie aims to create a universe accessible to multiple demographics, perhaps suggesting that Destiny will be less mature than Bungie’s efforts with Halo. A quote from Bungie co-founder Jason Jones says “Destiny is designed for your inner seven year old. We want to make it feel like a mythic adventure.” Destiny’s gameplay is described by the document as “social at its core,” offering “a world to explore with friends, both old and new.” It’s unclear whether this confirms comments from Bungie in 2011 that the game is an MMO, which Bungie later called a joke. The document also includes a Destiny logo along with Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 icons, as well as the URL Destiny.com. It’s worth noting that while Destiny.com is currently password-protected, if it is indeed a URL that’s been purchased by Bungie, it could suggest that Destiny will indeed be the game’s final name rather than a codename as previously speculated. Feel free to drop by and say hello! There’s much more to come.”
And now for some Concept art! :D [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/12.jpg[/t] [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/22.jpg[/t] [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/32.jpg[/t] [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/41.jpg[/t] [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/61.jpg[/t] [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/destiny-10jpg-489afb.jpg[/t] [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/8.jpg[/t] [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/9.jpg[/t] [t]http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2012/11/71.jpg[/t]
The name Destiny first emerged in May when court documents revealed details on four games in the series. At the time, installments in the Destiny series were revealed to be coming in fall 2013, fall 2015, fall 2017 and fall 2019. In 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020, downloadable expansions known as “Comet” were also said to be planned. The contract suggested the first Destiny game would be available first on Xbox 360 as well as “the next successor console platform released by Microsoft,” which the contract referred to as Xbox 720. Releases on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC were said to be planned in the years following, though today's information suggests and more closely timed release could be a possibility.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/28/destiny-story-details-concept-art-leaked

I'll proudly announce my erection to the whole world. I love the Halo universe even though I haven't played a game since Halo 3. This looks amazing
Not terribly impressed, gonna need details here.
that concept art could make some badass wallpapers is there a non-watermarked version available?
Consider me very interested.
Fantasy kind of look to a very scifi world yes mother fucker
looks like it could be promising
Releases on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC were said to be planned in the years following
YESSS
HNNNNNNG THOSE DESIGNS ARE FUCKING BRILLIANT!
If Bungie keeps up with their tradition of using historical figures to guide the storyline, this one is going to be a damn fine game...
This is what Destiny intended from the moment it entered the star system... Brilliant concept art... People just love to give Bungie and the Halo series in general a lot of shit, but I think there's a very succinct feeling of contiguity about the series and if they can carry that over to a new franchise, I think they'll have another hit on their hands. The concept art definitely shows promise (as it always does I suppose). I guess we can be pretty much assured that at least the first game they make will be a runaway success sales-wise simply due to it being a new franchise from Bungie, but I'm very curious to see what they've got planned. ...Just so long as it's not actually an MMO.
...Just so long as it's not actually an MMO.
Given Bungie said that MMO comment was a joke, I doubt it.
Please at least attempt to come to PC.

looks awfully like halo IMHO
looks awfully like halo IMHO
I wonder why
It looks cool and all but come on bungie try something different, if I didn't know it was for another game I'd just think that was concept art for another halo game.
looks awfully like halo IMHO
Halo looks an awful lot like Marathon.
looks awfully like halo IMHO
Looks like Halo and Star Wars had a baby. A glorious, multiplatform baby.
Super psyched since it's Bungie, but seeing Activision's name there makes me worry. But alas, at least it's not EA, so there's still some hope.
Looks awfully interesting.

Of course, that may not mean much, but its there.
