I'm thinking about getting FFXIV now, it's probably better than what IGN and them other companies say, plus they might give out a few more free months before going free to play or actually going pay-to-play. all i have to say about this game: fucking awful and a complete waste of time it's another grindfest with the most boring combat you could ever imagine

I've been playing since beta, the game was not polished enough. They spent the beta test period gathering feedback and debugging the game and now with the patches that will be released over the next few weeks the game will be in an actually fun, playable state. Or so the developers say. Either way I'd be paying my monthly fee this month, but another bonus month is okay with me! It makes sense though. Shortly after this month is up will be a week or two after the December patch, when there will be actual new content added to the game rather than majority bug fixes. P.S. Don't come in expecting a WoW killer or whatever MMO you're hoping for. If you were a FFXI fan chances are you'll love this game.

Regardless of the downsides of this game i'm staying with it through thick and thin, i've been enjoying every minute of my time on XIV and if I get 90 days free than I consider that a bonus.

I never got into this series.

FF will always have its deranged creepy shut-in wapanese hideous ham-beast furry fans, but they're a dying breed. All that Mountain Dew and Dominos is starting to pick them off one by one. Soon the only people playing FF and other grindfest games will be the asians. But at 13 they have to stop playing silly timesink MMOs and get to working at the sweatshop, so Square-soft needs to find a new cashcow before they pull a Realtimeworlds and just fucking dissolve.

Seriously, when FFXIII came out, half of their articles were like "Hurr hurr look at this linearity" and "Hurr hurr look at this GAME BREAKING BUG [sp]textureless abyss[/sp], bet you don't want to buy it now, huh?" So yeah, I stopped going to that site due to the off-center balance between opinion and news.
