Whatever the case, I'm pretty sure the mother is still happy, even though she might take a long time to be deradicalized. She got her daughter back, at least. Goes to show how much love and care she has for her daughter.

To be honest, this situation sounds pretty much just like a much more extreme version of a girl falling for "the bad boy", only instead of a misdemeanor and a father with a shotgun, we have Islamist terrorism and a mother with titanium ovaries. The girl made one hell of a mistake, but doesn't ruining her life for it kind of defeat the purpose of her realizing that the mistake almost ruined her life? Which I will point out: she did, it specifically says that she asked for and assisted in her mother's rescue effort.

The act of physically traveling there to marry someone is not on the same level as physically traveling there to wage jihad.
